1st Birthday

DD will be 1 whole year in May! Time flies!

We live in Fl so have a few options in mind.

Disney's animal kingdom?
Sea world?
Lion county safari, which is a drive thru zoo park.

Thoughts?

    Only the 3 of us. Then a small smash cake gathering either before or after.

    Any big even at this age seems like a bit of a waste to me. They won't remember it and would probably enjoy playing with a box and some sales ads on the floor as much as an expensive park.

    Of the 3 options though, I think the drive through park would be the most pointless, since it's hard for LO to really get to look out the window, and would be rather boring to sit still and not get to do anything.

    To each their own. It's not like they remember their first bday but she will be stimulated. We took her on a Disney cruise at Christmas and despite how small, she enjoyed it and did fantastic. It's not that expensive when you live locally and she'll have pictures to look back on of her cool first bday IMO it's worth it... Good point on the drive thru. I'm leaning toward sea world since she loves our tank.

    I'm not familiar with Florida, but I also love doing special things with my LOs.  Even if they don't remember, you do, and you're paying so you deserve the memories!  I think alot depends on how mobil your lo is.  DD was walking well at her 1st birthday so we did a children's museum.  Sea World seems like a good idea, she can enjoy it walking or not.  We've taken DD to 2 different aquariums as a 2 year old and she has no attention span what so ever and runs through the entire thing.  We may have had a nicer day trip if we did it when she was younger.

    We took DD to Sea World at 11mo and she loved it.  She didn't watch any shows except the Sesame Street one, but she had a great time watching the fish and all of the people.

    Like PP has said, once they get more mobile, they will want to RUN!!! I would suggest something not too pricey, where you can take your time and encourage hide and seek sort of stuff, like the zoo or aquarium. We are near Orlando, and we have taken DD to the Tampa Aquarium a couple times now, it's worth the drive. She loves finding the ducks in the grass, and watching the fish come up and surprise her. The zoo might be a little warm, but definitely good for learning, and a little play. There's plenty of space to do your own thing at the zoo.
