Trying to Get Pregnant

~*****~Waiting to do Something~*****~

Good morning ladies! Happy Hump Day!

For any newbies out there: the Waiting to do Something thread is posted once a week on Wednesdays.  It's open to those of us who experience long, extended cycles.  Some of us are going through medicated cycles, some of us are going through testing and some of us are just waiting, well to do something!!

1. Cycle/month:

2. CD:

3. Medicated?

4. What are you doing this cycle?

5.  What's pissing you off?!?!

6. QOTW: What do you do for a living?

Dx: Non-IR PCOS

Re: ~*****~Waiting to do Something~*****~

  • 1. Cycle/month: TTC since August with a loss late January

    2. CD: 37

    3. Medicated?  No

    4. What are you doing this cycle?  Temping and charting, just trying to see what's going on as we wait out our first cycle post-loss

    5.  What's pissing you off?!?!  It's the case of the mysterious missing period. Apparently temps can lie, everything I've read and heard says temps are the one most reliable indicator of ovulation but they're proving false for me. FF has held fast to saying I ovulated on CD 17, temps seemed to match that, but if I did then how can my LP be 20 days long with no sign of AF?  I was happily expecting AF after my temps dipped around the middle of the month, but no.  We're supposed to wait one cycle post-loss before actually TTC again so I'm glad I got the BFN I did this morning (tested only because temps have been so consistently high with another big spike this morning), but I just have no idea what my body is doing right now and it's very frustrating. :(

Thanks.Sorry about your chart. I'm not a chart expert or anything, but that seems strange to me too. The only thing I can think is you have the EW and HSO around the same time as that dip, which would mean most fertile. Have you been doing anything differently? More blankets, less blankets, sleeping with your mouth open?

My Dr. thinks I have PCOS and that I'm anovulatory (obviously). I had bloodwork done several months back, which I found out was not done at the right time (frustrating but whatever!). I've also had an ultrasound which showed two lovely polycystic ovaries, along with some other symptoms that point to the diagnosis. I haven't had an appointment since my ultrasound last month, so no one has come out and said "hey you have PCOS, let's do something about it". I now just have to wait until April 1st to see the new Dr. I was referred to.

    1. Cycle/month: 4/7

    2. CD: 14

    3. Medicated? nope, but just did Provera to get this cycle started

    4. What are you doing this cycle? temping/charting, preseed, sex :p

    5.  What's pissing you off?!?! I just got dx with PCOS yesterday. :/  So actually I'm more sad than pissed off.  My obgyn wants to refer me to an RE, so now my DH & I will need to think about if we want to go down that road now or wait a little longer.  It's a tough thing, I really don't know where I stand right now.

Have you thought about taking Provera? I noticed you are between drs but someone may be able to help you before April.  (My longest cycle was 121 days so I do know what you're going through and it sucks. Hang in there)

Yea I've thought about it. I think at this point with one month left, I'm good with not going that route until I see the new Dr. I'd hate to get AF now and then they want CD3 bloodwork and I have to wait it out again.

haha thanks! It's funny cuz I actually work with middle & high schoolers right now.  What kind of therapy do you do?

  • 1. Cycle/month: 7/9

    2. CD: 70

    3. Medicated? nope

    4. What are you doing this cycle? sex, temping, PNV, stopped with the pregnitude 'cause it wasn't working, exercise

    5.  What's pissing you off?!?! This cycle is starting to get to me. It is the second mega-cycle in a row for me and it is wearing on me. I want to call the doc, but last time I did that, I O'd, literally, the next day and I felt kind of foolish for going in, and everything seemed fine.

    6. QOTW: What do you do for a living?
I am a "product support specialist" that helps with administration of health and insurance benefits for other corporations. Pretty lame, but pays the bills and beats the heck out of teaching public high school! (For me at least)

Good luck tomorrow! Hope it isn't too unpleasant and you get some answers.

Right now my client's consist of mental health, substance abuse, probation and parole, and a couple of kids. Soooo pretty much everything. I used to work with mostly kids. I have a passion for mental health though.
