Sleep/eat issues

Lately I can't seem to tell when LO is hungry or tired. She seems to  nurse when she is either and typically falls asleep eating. I am having a hard time with naps, etc because of this. How can I get her on a better pattern of eating & sleeping? For bed I dont nurse, we do a bottle about 45 min before bedtime then bath, routine, sleep! This is partly why I want to wean because I am so confused. Ps LO is 5 mos

I had issues with this too when DS was a few months old.  It took a couple days of nursing every time he woke up and the offering about an hour before I predicted he would go down for a nap, to get back to the EASY schedule (Eat, Activity, Sleep, You).  Eventually, I was able to only nurse when he woke and not nurse to sleep.  Somedays I would have to nurse before nap but they eventually became the rarity.

If your LO naps okay, I agree with PP to try the EASY method.  it worked really well for us for 4-5 weeks, until DS decided to have major nap regression.  Now I can't get DS nap for more than 20 mins, and when he wakes up, i nurse him but he falls asleep at the breast b/c he's still tired.  I'm hoping this nap regression is just a phase so we can get back to the EASY method.
