My close friend's son just turned one. She and her husband recently started renting an apartment downtown Chicago and staying on nights that they have a busy schedule (she's a wedding planner and he's a lawyer and they live way out in the far far burbs, so the apt eleviates some of the driving hassle...anyway).
I thought that this would be a great gift for little Henry since they will be doing more back and forth now:

(mobile peeps - it's Skip Hop Dino backpack)
Any thoughts? Other suggestions? Or is this good?

Re: Birthday gift for 1 year old boy
perfect. My cousins son was coming to our house with a tote of toys. I bought him a backpack.
if you feel you want to gift more.. maybe fill the backpack with a few toys maybe a cup...
Love our Skip Hop backpacks. Does he go to daycare...are you sure he doesn't already have a bag?
Cute!!!
I always give puzzles or books to kids under 5. It is the teacher in me! (and the nerd)
Other suggestions that were/are huge in my house:
Monster Truck/Cars/Trains
Books: In the town all year 'round, Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site
Melissa and Doug puzzles: the Construction puzzle, the Emergency Vehicles puzzle, and the latches puzzle
They've either had her mom or a babysitter watch him in their home. I think I might ask her under the guise that I want to get something for Kate and see what she says.

such a cute idea!! my go-to's are clothes, books or trucks haha
Little blue truck is a good book, or Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.
Something he might be able to grow into is a "Learn to Dress" doll like this one:

Not sure if that's clicky. Sorry if it's not.
