Did anyone watch the "Makers" documentary on PBS last night?

I didn't catch the beginning but basically a recap of feminisn in the 20th century.

I thought it was interesting (read disappointing) to hear women activists like Phylis Schlafly (sp??) refer to themselves as NOT feminists and even Marissa Mayer. They got all the benefits of feminism, but they won't use the word.

Also - super interesting to see how progress just shut down in the 80s' . .

Bahahaha. I recorded Celebrity Wife Swap because it was Kate Gosselin, so I guess I am worse....

Damnit!! I didn't knwo that was on last night. . ... I would have seriously debated which one to watch.

Ahhhhh I forgot Celebrity Wife Swap was having KG on it! I wanted to DVR it and forgot. Does it come on demand??

As a history teacher, I don't have a lot of respect for Schlafly since she thought that the ERA would lead to gay marriage. Strange logic! She never called herself a feminist, she was voice against the feminist movement.

Yes it did. But I think it says a lot about feminism in the 21st century: a bunch of working moms talking about trashy reality TV. The 21st century woman is all about balance.

I caught some of it and thought it was great. I was completely undone by the Atlantic Monthly article last fall about Why Women Still Can't Have It All and have been slightly obsessed on the subject since.
