So when do you plan on having Lo sleep with a blanket and any particular one or size?
K still uses a sleep sack and since she walks all over I figure I need to change soon though know a blanket won't stay on her and also still worry about safety issues and her getting tangled up

This exactly. I really just find the sleepsacks more convenient. We have the ones with the feet and they've worked out great, especially if I decide to get him pjs early so he can still move around and play until we're ready to wind down. I have no particular issue with blankets except that they're useless for a baby that moves around like he does. It works much better for us to strap the blanket right to him!
Are you using cotton or fleece footed sleep sacks? I'm thinking about just doing cotton ones since summer is right around the corner.
Fleece right now but I'm holding off on buying more until the seasons change for the same reason because we may need to change sizes by that time. The ones with the footholes run differently because I think the size is based on the sack without footholes. For example, my son is almost getting ready to bust out of his 12-18 month sacks without feet (size large in Halo) but the foothole ones are perfect in the same size right now. When he stands, the sack part just barely skims the floor and he's just under 34 inches tall.
My son is really tall too and we're having the same issue with the large Halo ones. Good to know about the foothole sizing, thanks!
DS has had a blanket since he was 3 weeks old, when we stopped swaddling. He has several different kinds but his favorite is this one.
It's usually kicked to the end of the crib in the morning though.
