So when the list was going around and everyone was talking about IG, I was very new to it and didn't know how it worked. I've been using it a little more lately.

My profile is private, so you'd have to request me, I think? Well my IG name is 108dawn108, if anyone is interested. Are most of your profiles private or public? I just thought private was a better idea, given that it's really all pics of DD.

And if I post a pic and tag it "#sept12babies" only people who are following me can see it, correct? But if I change it to public, anyone can see my pics at any time?

Correct on your question. If you're private, only your followers can see.

I'm private and so are a lot of other Sept12 moms. It really varies.

As to the hashtag, correct me if I'm wrong, but once you add a hashtag, if people search that hashtag they will see your pictures.

Yes to all questions. If you are private, we have to request you. Same goes for if someone is private. If your profile is private, you can use hashtags but only those following you will see the pics. Personally, my profile is private. I just like it better that way. It's all about preference!

Before I went private I had people following me that I had no clue who they were. Instead of blocking people left and right I just went private.

I don't need to be all pops on the interwebz.

Once you put a hashtag on your picture, anyone following that hashtag can see your picture regardless of if you're private.

I have a public profile (b/c I have a public blog) and my name is jennifrmtheblog (no "o" in from). Look for me!

when you use a hash tag i believe anyone looking up that hash tag can see the photo

And yes, if you put #sept12babies on your pic ANYONE following that hashtag can see your picture, even if they don't follow you.

Nope, if your private the pictures private under a hash tag.
I've used obscure hashtags and clicked on them it says 2 photos but I can only see mine because the other person is private.

That's what I believe, too - but apparently we're in the minority here? I've done the same test and can only see photos from people who aren't set to private. Huh.

So I'm not sure what the point of using hashtags are if you're private? Like, using the #sept12babies hashtag won't have your picture show up in the group, I'm guessing? Who knows.
