Thick Brown Discharge?

Hi ladies! Quick question. I am 39 weeks tomorrow and started having cramping, random contractions, and a thick brown discharge last night. This has all continued today and Im curious if anyone has experience with a thick brown discharge being an early sign of labor. I have not had recent intercourse or internal exam, so I know it's not for that. But, just hoping maybe I'm on the path to being done with this and meeting my little boy! Thanks!

    Sounds like a mucus plug to me!  I am a FTM and still have my mucus plug firmly in place so take my opinion with a grain of salt...but based on what I have learned things are sounding promising for you!

    Kinda sounds like your MP to me also.  Is it like snot or just like old blood?  I had something like that last Saturday and still have an inside baby so I wouldn't really say it is a sign of labor coming unless you are having painful frequent contractions.

    Yesterday was a little snotlike. Today is just thick and brown. Yuck!

    Sounds like that is what it is.  I always hear it described as snot and yes that is kinda yuck. lol  You are probably losing it a little at a time.  I did some reading on this the other day and from what I gather normally the last bit of the MP is where you get the blood tinge.  I don't know how accurate that is but I saw it on several sites.
