1. With the mini I have to pour a cup of water in the
top every time, and I always overfill it, and it runs out on my counter
because I removed the drip tray so I could fit a decent-sized cup
underneath.
2. To pour the cup of water in, I have to do acrobatics to avoid pouring water into my toaster.
3. I used MIL's regular Keurig, and it was *amazing*. So fast! And if I wanted to run a second cycle through a k-cup, I don't have to get a second cup to pour more water in the top. I can just press a button.
Life is rough.
ETA: travel mugs don't fit, even if I remove the drip tray

I was going to ask why you needed a bigger one if your mini works well. But these are all valid reasons. Get a big one!
Sometimes I don't see the leak from overfilling, and water sits under the unit... so even though I lift and clean under it damn near every day, I am ruining my counter tops.
I was totally going to ask about Keurigs today. DH wants one. I don't drink coffee but I do like hot chocolate on occasion. We talked about getting the Vue, but it is more expensive, and the Vue cups are more expensive too. DH can't decide what he wants, so I kind of think I am just going to have to make a decision for him. What do you guys think the best model would be?

We have the platinum and I LOVE it. We don't have to put water in it every time we use it, it is way faster than the small one, and travel cups fit perfect (without the drip tray in). I say get it!!
I highly suggest it.
FYI, at my Costco right now they have the big one that I have, 72 oz I think, with 60 or 70 KCups and a reusable cup for less then what we paid at Bed Bath and Beyond with a coupon and without the extras.
I wish I had gotten in on that deal!

I make the Swiss Miss KCups all the time! Delish!
Same advise about the Costco one!
I go with the outlook that if you know you'll use it all the time, you know it will last, it will make your day happier/easier/at least effing caffeinated FFS, and you can afford it--get it. And I swear I buy less stuff with this outlook--giving myself permission to buy crap I actually reallyreally want--than without. So get it. And enjoy it.

I tossed the idea of the vue around, but I really like the selection of the regular k-cups. I doubt they'll make spicy egg nog in a vue cup. I'm skimming through this right now https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHDRT6JQ5Hw
How the F could this guy talk for 20 min about this? I have it playing in the background.
ETA: hot choc, spiced cider, teas, iced teas/coffee.......mmmmmm!
ETA2.0: k-cup patent expired, so there is a huge selection. vue is a fresh patent, so selection might suck.
I love mine! I hate how pricey k cups are and the reusable cup sucks. I bought mine at Khols so I got Khols cash. It is great for my hubby. He can make a cup quick before he leaves for work since he's up 3hrs before me.
ETA: I have the platinum. I like lighter cups of coffee so I can brew a 12oz cup.

We have a single cup at work but before that had the deluxe model until it went to sh!t. I bought kcup hot chocolate thinking it would be a great treat at work on cold days. They are nasty! I was very disappointed. Of course I'm a person who thinks the more chocolatey (sp) the better! I don't have Keurig at home but I can see the appeal. My mom has one and loves it. We bought it for her for Christmas last year. My dad can't have coffee so it works well for them!

I make my hot chocolate with milk and i think that is why the kcups kind is so gross
We have a big one. (B60 I think?) I don't know how we lived life all those years without it. It is by far my favorite kitchen appliance. The cup-at-a-time water thing would drive me crazy. As would not being able to make coffee in a travel mug. I say go for it.

This is reason enough for me to say you need a regular size one. Not sure which one I have but I love it.
