Im sitting in a hospital lab waiting room booooo glucose test!! and a woman is beside me, texting or something on her phone, letting her 78mth old baby crawl around the floor. Gross!! I guess its her choice but hospitals are one of the germiest places there are!! Ok. End rant. Back to try to study for an exam but im starrrving! ;

  • Have you ever tried to stop a baby from crawling around when they want to? She could just be to wrapped up in her own stuff to care,or it could be that its better than the baby screaming to get down, either way hopefully she washes babies hands before they go in mouth

     I was thinking the same thing.

  • Eh, who cares. If she washes/wipes the kids hands afterwards I really don't think it's that big of a deal.

    I choose my battles with my kids.(ESPECIALLY in doctors waiting offices, on airplanes, and the like) That's probably not one I would fight if it meant the baby would not otherwise be content waiting.

    This. Exactly.

    This.  I would have felt the same way before having a child.  Now, I've learned!

    I guess each person is different because I have 2 other children and never let them down on the floor in a public place.

  • Actually, it is MRSA.

     Personally, I would not do it.

  • Last time I went for a blood draw the girl wouldn't even let me put my coat on the floor. After that warning, nothing but my feet will touch that floor anymore.

    This. I know it's super gross, but sometimes you're out of other options.

    Agreed. Also, what is the point of moms judging other moms? I'm not saying I've never judged anyone, but motherhood seems hard enough without having to worry about other moms judging you.

    Agreed. Sometimes you've just gotta let them roam. I'm sure someone would have been judging if she was holding the kid and letting them scream.

    True, sometimes you just have to do what's best in the moment and people are probably going to judge you no matter what decision you make.

    Loving every minute with two sweet boys!

  • The baby was in a onesie.. and putting his hands in his mouth. His mother wasn't watching what he was doing much at all. THAT'S why it bothered me. I could see his knees were all black just from crawling around for 10 minutes. I mean, it's her decision, and "pick your battles" and all, but there are some places i would NEVER let my kids on the floor, regardless of their mood, etc. Hospitals are one of those places. Period.

    Yes

    I'm pretty much over the posts criticizing other mom's parenting decisions. Although, I'm sure we're still got months of those to come...
