Seriously. I need some major help in becoming a morning person. I try very hard to get to bed a reasonable time. Last night I was in bed and sleeping before 9:15 and couldn't get out of bed at 6 to workout. I did make it out of bed, not happily, by 7.
Re: ever try a Lightbox? Need tips on becoming a morning person
Honestly, getting to bed earlier was the most important thing for me.
Also, doing something that gets either your body or your brain moving right away tends to help. I used to run in the mornings. Since I changed my schedule, I can't do that anymore, but I do read on my Kindle for about 15 minutes while I have my coffee, and it helps me feel more awake.
I guess I could try to work out after the kids go to bed but then I have to shower at night because I don't like going to bed stinky. But I can't do that because my hair looks like crap if I don't do it in the morning... It's sorta a lose lose situation here. I think I eat "ok". I mean, I'm not a great health nut but I'm not eating fast food everyday either. I love fruits and veggies... The quality of my sleep is probably poor. I have never had great quality sleep but after dealing with a family tragedy, it's been even worse. I want to be a morning person. I want to work out and be showered and ready to go to work before my kids are awake.
lol. excellent. What is "very early"?
well "normally" I would go to bed at 11 or later then pop out of bed just before 8 because I was running late and need to shower and get ready in 5 mins.
not sure how much sleep I need. Sorta would like to do a sleep study or something
It varies, but right now I've been waing up at 4:45am. I can only sleep for 6 hours max though.
whoa. WHOA. 4:45 is very early, you were not exaggerating there...
I've been told adults only need 6 hours. What happens if you sleep more than 6? Do you feel off and cranky or is it just not an option/internal clock wakes you up?
It's too long for my body to lay down. If I sleep too long I will wake up in extreme pain. It's a bad way to start a day. If I were to fall asleep at 9pm, I'd up around 3am. It's a good thing I am a night owl.
I'd love to go to bed after midnight and not be up so early because my internal clock does not like it, but I'd have no tme to myself.
