I have made the majority of the foods that I have given the girls but a friend gave me a box full of jarred foods that she didn't use and I hate for them to go to waste.
However when going through some to pick one to give them last night I noticed that a large amount of them have Tuna Oil in them for DHA. I find this so strange. Am I missing something? Would it be okay to give them something other than straight up fruit/veggies and water?
Re: Jarred foods
I don't know if that's ok or not. That's why I'm just making my own, but like you I wouldn't want that to go to waste. I bought a couple jars of bananas to give to Nola because I haven't had a chance to make a run for raw stuff to make and it tastes DISGUSTING. I tried it and I was like, WHAT IS THIS! She made so many faces! I know she'll probably do that with all new foods but seriously, it was so gross. Bananas are not THAT sweet.
Anyways, I'm sorry I don't have an answer to your question. I thought it was better for them to get non-fish sources of DHA but I could be wrong.
I love jarred baby bananas.
However I agree they are not like the real thing. I am a fan of all things banana flavored though.
