DD has been on Similac Advanced or Sensitive since 2-3 weeks old (had to suppliment at first, then went to exclusively formula when she just couldn't latch on correctly). We had tried Up and Up from Target for a week when she was around 2 months. She didn't do well on it and got constipated. Thought it was the formula but now it's common for her to be constipated 2-3 times/week. We're working on it with our doctor and she seems pretty happy otherwise.
Now that she's almost 6 months old and eating more fruits and veggies, I'd like to see if we can switch her to a generic formula and save us some $$! Any recommendations from others that have gone through the same thing?
Re: Switching to Generic formula
This. Get a small can of the generic and start mixing it with the name brand. If you do 3 scoops, start with 2/name brand, 1/generic for a day or so, then go to 2/generic, 1/name brand, and so on and so forth. That should ease the transition a bit.
