Bloody Show vs. Blood from Exam (TMI)

How do I tell the difference between a bloody show and blood from an internal exam?

I've been seeing little bits of yellow-greenish mucous coming out on my toilet paper/pantyliner for several weeks now. Yesterday I had an internal exam, and a few hours later I saw some blood on the TP after I peed, and a bit on my pantyliner throughout the rest of the day. I chalked it up to the exam. This morning I had blood-tinged mucous. Could this be bloody show or is it just blood leftover from yesterday's exam?

I just got told that I need to be induced early next week because my baby has been consistently small, but I really wanted a drug-free delivery (or at least I wanted to attempt it), so I'm reeeeeeally hoping that I go into labor naturally before the induction.

    Following my last internal I had some spotting for 2 days and a glob of brown tinged mucus in the toilet. I have appointment today and plan on asking my OB if she can tell if I have lost my mucus plug or if that was from the last exam. I don't really think I have had my bloody show yet. If I get a straight answer I will let you know.

    After my last internal, my doctor told me that I would likely spot blood for the next 48 hours.  So, it probably is from that.

    I've been wondering about this exact thing.  After my last internal, I had brownish spotting for about 3 days and the doctor said that it was normal.  I have another internal exam tomorrow.  I'm starting to think that I won't be able to use the "bloody show" as a sign for labor because I won't know the difference between that and spotting from the exam.

    After my last two internals my OB told me that I would spot since I was so soft, but I never did. She is even surprised when I tell her I didn't spot- weird...
