Toddler MoMmas

How's it going girls??

We're still debating between preschool full time at 3 vs. continuing our amazing nanny.

We are thinking church program (MDO) 1-2 days / week with our nanny the rest of the week until age 4.  The private kinder at 5.  Likely they'll go into pubilc kinder at 6 due to very small size and very late birthday.

Hope everyone is enjoying this crazy, fun age!!

  • We're still debating about preschool too. My state is in the process of changing its age deadline for K. My boys will basically be 6 for most of K. We're thinking of starting part-time preschool at 3.5 instead of 3. Or really, whenever they stop napping, lol. I haven't started potty training yet, mostly b/c it scares the crap out of me, but also b/c I don't think my boys are ready (they're 2.5).

  • We decided to do preschool at 4. The last week has been rough though with the constant whining and arguing. I may change my mind :)

They're doing well otherwise. Their language skills and imaginative play amaze me every day. Not much really happening.
  • Ours turn 3 at the end of August. We're starting preschool in full-time September (not sure where yet). I just think they need something a bit more enriching with more kids their own age then their in-home DCP.

Baby #3 (due June 25) will go to the in-home DCP.

It's a daily adventure....We do 4 days a week at the church school (9-1). We couldn't afford a nanny - BUT I will say that it's been awesome for the girls. They have gotten really socialized and are amazing at following directions and structure!

I am lucky that I work at a REALLY good private pk-12 school so when they are 4 i'll be enrolling them here. At a faculty discount!

I'm in the exact same situation. Their bday is 09/10...so they miss my state cutoff by 9 days. So they will be five for 9 days of K, and the 6 the rest of the year. I'm honestly ok with it.

I gave potty training a go over xmas...and not only were THEY not ready, but I wasn't ready. LOL. SPring break is going to be my next go-round. I think they are closer to being ready now than they were....

My twins will be 3 (in September) with #3 is due in October. Are we nuts?!?!? I'm getting nervous and i'm only 8 weeks in.

  • Mine are preschoolers already so a little older. ;) We started them in the 2's class 2 mornings a week last January (right after they turned 3 ... since it goes by age as of 9/1) and they're in 3's class 3 mornings a week this year.

  • Wow I didn't realize there were so many with kids at a similar age. We are looking into preschool too. Probably 3 mornings per week. Not sure if they will be able to attend the same preschool as DS has some developmental delays. So we're just trying to work through that. But it is fun to see them sort of get in touch with their emotions and feelings and tell you how they feel and just seeing them grow!
  • My girls are 3y9m now, and we are just doing a pre-school type class one morning/wk.  Otherwise they are still staying home with me, and the nanny when I go to my PT job.

We're really hoping to send them to a year of preschool starting in the Fall, when they're 4. We'll likely do 3days/wk.

  • We've been debating this a lot. We finally decided to go with public schools since our district has some of the best schools in the country. But they start full time with prek at 4. We decided to go with preschool this fall they'll be 3y2m half day, 4 days a week. I think that will be a good transition from home with me all day to full time school. Hope it works out!
