Re: 3rd Tri Check In

  • Hi all! I'm so excited to say I've got just 8 weeks to go! The nursery is done and I feel like we can relax a little bit before this little lady arrives! I'm measuring 3 weeks behind as of my last appointment and LO is still transverse, hopefully she will think about turning soon! I'll be honest- I'm pretty uncomfortable and I know it's only going to get worse. Heartburn and reflux is terrible and my pelvic/pubic area is really sore because of the SPD.

DH and I are heading to NYC this weekend to visit friends and spend some time together. I'm looking forward to it, but and secretly dreading all the walking that comes along with being in the city.

QOTW: Ugh pregnancy brain, I feel like it should be a legitimate medical diagnosis! Best pregnancy brain uh-oh was last month. DH and I received a $200 gift certificate to a very fancy restaurant. We went out and racked up quite a bill eating lobster, filet mignon, and other deliciously expensive foods. Come to find out I had forgotten the gift card at home. We are trying to save money for when baby comes and when I am not working anymore, so needless to say this kind of a night out wasn't in the budget! I started to cry at the table! DH was so good, he just burst out laughing and ordered another beer! It is an awesome memory.

  • I had my MFM and my OB appointments last week and everything looks great! The boys are still breech and I know they have time to flip, but they have been breech forever now so I think they are pretty comfy in there; which means I'll probably be looking at a c-section (unless they do some last minute acrobatics!) They are almost 3 lbs each... no wonder strangers are asking me if I'm about to pop! Still waiting for the results of my one hour GTT, cookies in hand :)

I think my fave pregnancy brain moment is when I tried to open the garage door with my car key remote. And I'm not talking about the outside garage door that also opens with a remote, I'm talking about the door going from the garage into the house. I stood there for a hot minute pressing the "unlock" button with it pointing at the door! I was trying to lock my car and go in the house at the same time and some wires got crossed, lol.

I think DH is having some preggo brain too.. this morning he got in his car, put it in reverse, then realized he forgot to set the house alarm... got out to go set the alarm without putting the car back in park, so he had to dive back into it while it was rolling down the driveway!

  • I will be 39 weeks tomorrow and will be induced Friday morning! I have my last appointment tomorrow and am hoping I've made it all the way to 5cm so that I'm halfway done by induction time! Parents are all coming in Thursday night after work and our siblings will be here Saturday!

We've got everything ready and are just waiting now!

QOTW: I don't have a good example, mine have been minor things like it took me three weeks to get a new stapler for my classroom instead of right away like I usually do, or thinking of something I need at the store and forgetting 5 minutes later.

  • Update: I will be 30 weeks on Friday and will see the OB that morning.  Hopefully all will be good at that point.  I never heard anything about my 1 hour, so I am assuming I passed that.  I have nasty heartburn and I am starting to get tired a lot more easily, but overall I feel pretty good.  All of the nursery furniture is in and the rug and stroller were delivered yesterday.  I am loving how everything is coming together!  I literally pushed the stroller around the living room for way too long last night imagining a baby in it.  I can't wait!

QOTW: I have been pretty good with this, but a couple months ago I put the mayo away in the cabinet instead of the fridge.  I realized my mistake as I was closing the cabinet but H got a good laugh out of it!

  • As posted yesterday, I am physically ok. Mentally I am finding it hard to still be PG. Because I have been feeling blah and had that pre-e concern a few weeks ago I have to get some more bloodwork this a.m. My BP and urine are fine though.

QOTW: I can't think of anything- which kind of sums it up I guess!

  • Can you add me to the list?  I am 28w2d today, yay!  Pregnant with boy/girl twins.  EDD 5/6/13 (38 weeks).

Had my monthly growth scan last week.  Both babies measuring on track and estimated around 2lbs 7oz each.  Both are head down, spine up.  So mostly I feel their butts poking out at me at odd angles!

QOTW:  I once shook up my protein drink (after it was already opened) and sprayed chocolate protein drink all over myself and the bathroom.  Of course this happened as I was getting ready for work, so then I was late. I've left the house several times forgetting to put on my jewelry (which is kinda moot now since my rings don't fit).

  • Things are good.  Now going for twice monthly with MFM and my midwife but so far no increase in amniotic fluid.  Very happy about that.  Heartburn is getting really bad at times but otherwise I'm kind of sad about this almost being over.  I will really miss LO kicking around in there.

  • Update:  I will be full term this Sunday, wow!  I had my 36 wk OB app yesterday.  Due to my age, they did NST but my baby was excellent!  He also did a cervix check for Group B-strep.  He said my cervix is soft but not dilated, so it's all good and looks like the baby's head is down, woot woot!!

QOTW:  I locked myself out of my home recently.  I have left my purse in a restaurant.  Here and there, I am forgetting stuff for work and I have been blaming my prego brain, ha!

  • Updates:

Had a small scare a couple weeks ago with some painful false labor, but all is well. Going to see the anesthesiologist today to see if I can get an epidural during labor (if I need/want one).  I've had issues with my back for as long as I can remember, so I'm curious as to what they'll say.  Next OB appt. isn't until 3/20 when I'll be close to 33 weeks!  I continue to be thankful for how well things are going!  Just feeling heavier and more easily run-down; but nothing that lying down for a nap can't cure

QOTW: Last week, DH and I were leaving the house to go for a walk and I kept wondering why one shoe didn't feel right.  We looked down and I had tied one shoe, but had somehow forgotten the other.

My appt yesterday was great with just one small exception.  I've basically gained no weight in the last 5 weeks.  OB isn't too worried since my fundal height is measuring right on track, but I just indulged in DQ blizzard in hopes of bumping up a little bit Smile

QOTW: Leaving work early to nap and then work from home...... but forgetting to put my laptop in my bag and not realizing it until I woke up from the nap (took sick hours instead.....oops!)

  • Hi all, still can't believe I'm in the 3rd tri now!   We bought our nursery furniture, and currently it is sitting in our living room.  I can't believe soon there will be actual babies using those cribs!!

QOTW:  Going to the vet ....  and forgetting to bring the dog.  Embarrassed

  • Everything seems to be going pretty good. My GD seems to be under control just as long as I don't eat anything crazy carby, so I'm trying to be good. At my appointment last week they did an U/S and baby girl was measuring 4.5 lbs and 13 days ahead. Dr said she didn't want me birthing a toddler, so we'll just keep an eye on it. I know U/S isn't always the most reliable way to determine size, but still kinda crazy how big she's getting. I'll be curious to see what my belly measures at my appointment this Friday. She has been breech this whole time, so I'm starting to worry I'll just have to have a C/S. Praying she'll turn though!

QOTW: I don't think I've had any single huge moment, but definitely a lot of mini-ones. I'm just trying to make lots of lists so I don't do anything too crazy.

MF (low motility) - Began stims for IVF#1 7/21/12

  • Thanks for the congrats! I look forward to seeing you all over on SAIF soon

  • Well on Friday I can officially say that my girls will be here next month so that's pretty exciting! I had an appt on Monday and everything is looking great. Baby A was estimated at about 3.2lbs (but they think she may be more because her head was so low in my pelvic region that they couldn't get a good accurate measurement) and baby B is closer to 4lbs.  I looked at my dr and (very sarcastically) said "so basically I'm carrying around a full term baby right now?" to which she kind of chuckled, but agreed. My back is definitely feeling the weight so I've been very grateful to be able to rest a lot since I know it'll just get worse moving forward.

As for me, my cervix is still nice and long so they said they have no concerns about me going into labor anytime soon. Obviously carrying multiples, this was a huge relief... we're guessing I have anywhere from 5-7 weeks to go! Woohoo!!!

We spoke about delivery options also. Right now Baby A is head down and Baby B is breech, but they said that can still change so we'll see as it gets closer. I would love to deliver vaginally, and even if they stay in these positions, they told me about doing a breech extraction on Baby B after I deliver Baby A, but I don't know how comfortable I am with that. I definitely want to go into labor on my own, but I think if they are not both head down, I may opt for the c section just to be safe. I just feel fearful that I would deliver Baby A and then the extraction of Baby B wouldn't work and I'd have to get a c section also and then be recovering from both while caring for newborn twins!

QOTW: Can me not being able to think of a pregnancy brain moment count as my pregnancy brain moment? I know I've had plenty, but I can't think of any right now! Haha... I did have a pregnancy hormonal breakdown last night though: I met DH at his work for dinner (he works at a hotel/casino) and afterwards he walked me to my car which was in the same lot at his. Well we get out there and he didn't have his keys with him, so he had to go all the way back to his office (which was right downstairs from the restaurant we were at) and go all the way back out to his car. I felt so bad that as soon as I got in my car, I started bawling and it lasted the whole 25 miles drive home! The worst part was I knew I was being ridiculous but I couldn't help it!!

Skylar Elena and Hollyn Isabella... our two beautiful blessings arrived April 18, 2013!
