Some of you are on the SAHM board with me. I didn't post here much about Elliot's surgery last week..I think I only mentioned it once. I wrote a blog explaining his condition and his surgery if anyone is interested. Its linked in my siggy. Overall his surgery and recovery went really well! I was so nervous for weeks leading up to it. I hope I never have to go through that stress again. It is terrifying watching a nurse carry your baby into an OR.Someone on here lately mentioned ear tubes. I can't remember who it was now though.. Whoever you are did you end up having to do it? How did it go?Anyone else's LO had to have any kind of surgery? They're so young, its heart breaking to think of our babies having to go through stuff like this. But today is one week since the surgery and I'm incredibly impressed by how well Elliot did with the entire thing. Babies are incredible!nbsp;

Re: Elliot's surgery
Glad he did well!
I haven't had to go through a surgery with either of the girls, but Morgan had a spinal tap at 5 weeks and Kara had an MRI back in December. The spinal tap was very scary at the time because she was only 5 weeks old! But the MRI was terrifying because we had no idea what could be wrong, just that something was going on with her eyes. Absolutely nothing is wrong and she's perfect, but having to go through that was frightening.
Maybe us? We were supposed to 3x starting in January- all of them cancelled because we cant stay healthy.
Im dreading it bad. We went with a new ENT for several reasons but I think it will help alot with my nerves.
Glad Elliot is doing well!
my LO had tube surgery when he was exactly five months... he never in his little life had an ear infection but he failed his hearing test at birth and six week later (severe hearing loss) because of fluid in his ears. they were not draining on their own so we opted to get the surgery. and wow! he went from having severe hearing loss to hearing beautifully...
the day of surgery was so stressful. i remember crying as the nurse took him from my arms. i was petrified of him "going under." but looking back, I am so happy we made the decision...
DS1 had surgey at 6 weeks old
DS2 had surgey and a spinal tap at 3 weeks old. It's amazing how fast they bounce back.
LOL I know! Cj finally pointed out that I never said what the deal was in the first place. Oops! Haha
Happy to hear he's ok and it went well!
Neither of my LOs have ever had surgery, but DD2 was in the hospital in January for a week. They did a million and one tests on her and it was total tortue sitting in that hospital room day in and day out seeing her go through all that.
I hear you on the SIDS comment on your blog. When we were there, DD had *at least* six blankets in her crib at any given time. They even had blankets draped over the side rails so she couldn't see people coming in and out of the room.
