I'm looking at a whole pile of potential books (ie: The Happiest Baby on the Block etc) but am wondering if any of you STMs have any good recommendations?

I liked "What expect the first year," "What to expect the toddler years" and for sleep training we used "The sleep easy solution" and would recommend it.
I thought "Heading Home with Your Newborn" was a great resource. I read the whole thing right before having DS and referred to it often in the first few monhts. I had "What to Expect the First Year" and "Your Baby's First Year," but didn't really use them much.
We loved the baby whisperer and found her very helpful for both sleep training and behavioral stuff now that DS is a toddler. I should mention that I did everything on demand until DS was transitioning to a crib at 3 mos, then we started streamlining his routine

Healthy sleep habits happy child heavy and dense, but our toddler is and has been an amazing sleeper b/c of this book
Happiest Baby on the Block worked like a charm for DD. Even though it isn't a "sleep" book, per say, the techniques allowed us to calm her enough to get her ready for good sleep. She STTN 12 hours at 2 months old exactly.

I swear by Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. Dr. Weissbluth is a genius, and I have a great sleeper because of him. He gives options in case you don't want to do a strict "cry it out" approach, which I really appreciated since that was just not the right thing for us.
agree with PP, highly rec healthy sleep habits, happy child. also liked happiest baby on the block and found the dvd helpful. it's not an advice book but i enjoyed bringing up bebe just as some lighthearted reading.
I hated all the baby books I read. I felt much less stressed after I stopped trying to figure out why my baby wasn't following the "norms" and just followed her cues instead.
