We're foster parents and are currently fostering 2 under 2. We kept LO #2 in our room until she was STTN. Now she's in her own room which shares a (very thin it seems) wall with her brother's room. She now STTN in the sense that she doesn't wake to eat, but will sometimes wake crying/fussing.
LO #1 sometimes wakes up fussing during the night. We use to just let him go because in general he puts himself back to sleep. We can't do that now though because he wakes the baby. She's apparently a light sleeper. However it goes both ways because we can't leave her to fuss at all or she wakes her brother.
We're under contract on a house, but won't be moving until April.
Any advice? I would love to let them fuss (as long as they aren't screaming/crying) instead of running in there, but then we end up with two kids that are awake.

Re: Bedrooms
Can you use white noise?
Our boys' rooms share a wall (although, I don't know how thin they really are), and they rarely wake each other up. Actually, the only times they wake up together seem to be when my neighbor takes his garbage out to the side of his house in the MOTN. ::ugh::
We had a white noise machine in each room, and are now down to just one in DS2's room. It works wonders for noise!!
This.
And also the white noise machine (or just a fan going in the rooms) will help a lot.
