First, I want to say, I don't want anyone to feel pressured by this!  We're all at different points and some of us are still establishing milk supplies, or just in the throes of adjusting to life as a mama, etc.  Everyone will be ready to start dieting/exercising in their own time and that's okay!  But for those of us who are currently looking to get back to dieting and/or exercising regularly I thought a weekly check in might be a good way to support each other since not only are we trying to commit to losing weight and/or working out we're all doing it with little babies which poses a unique challenge ![]()
So, if you are interested, what day of the week do you think would be best to check in?  I was thinking maybe Friday.  That's typically when I do my "official" weigh in, and it's before the weekend when some people take a break and or eat a little less diet-friendly
  Thoughts on this?
Also, what should we check in with every week? I was thinking we should definitely do like a start weight, current weight, goal weight (or if people don't want to share weight just current loss vs. goal loss), what your exercise/diet plan is (i.e. Weight Watchers, calorie counting, etc.) and of course just a general how did the week go? or maybe a what did you do really well this week vs. what do you need to work on? Anything else?
And I think those who are just trying to get back into the routine of exercising, but aren't necessarily looking to lose weight are welcome too! Maybe we could include a question about why type of exercise you did this week and how many days did you exercise, did you meet your daily goal, etc.?
Thoughts?  What else should we include every week?
Re: Anyone interested in a weekly weight loss/exercise check in?
ETA and a favorite, healthy recipe question would be nice. I love finding new recipes!
I'm in. I need to get back on track with WW. We could do a question that encourages people to give tips that have helped them stay on track.
Examples: tips for eating out healthy, favorite skinny drinks, favorite recipes, tips for exercising with baby
I'm totally in. I know Spainy(sp?) has been doing a daily "back in shape" post similar to what you're describing. Maybe we can consolidate it all into 1 big check in?
I love the tips for exercising w/ baby, skinny drinks, and favorite health recipe swap ideas.
Me too! I had mine a little early yesterday, which was 2 days shy of 5 weeks PP (my office is going through some changes so I had to get in by the end of February if I wanted to see my MW for the appointment) so I'm debating whether to start this week or give myself until 6 weeks. We'll see what happens. Maybe I'll officially start Sunday since I feel like it's always nice to start something like this at the beginning of the week

Alright, glad to see some other ladies are interested in a support system. I'll get a post up on Friday if no one has any objections to that being our check in day!

Im in as well...but I wanted to let everyone know that dieting can be really dangerous while breastfeeding...and it's not recommended until your baby is at least 2 months old.
Here's a great article!

I'm all for eating healthy, cutting out the junk (which is hard with all the valentines day candy still laying around) and exercising but I'm NOT going to restrict my calories. I'm using My Fitness Pal App and trying to keep my calories around 1800.
I've done Zumba this week and I feel FANTASTIC!!
Great info!
