A poll if you are still working out -

    1.  What are you doing for exercise?  How often?

    I'm still going to the gym 3 - 4 days a week, doing cardio for 30 - 45 mins, and lifting 20 - 30.  I'm also walking most days, around 2 miles.

    2.  How do you feel when you are working out?  I'm much slower and get winded so easily.  But I sleep better and feel good after, and have had minimal aches and pains this pregnancy (just fatigue).

    3.  Do you think you will be able to continue til the very end?  I really hope so.  Even just the walking.  The baby's pressure on pelvic region can get intense during walks, so I try to take it easy and I've been slowing way down.

    4.  Do you think it will help you get back into the routine after baby arrives?  I really hope so.  I did nothing last pregnancy and am hoping I can keep walking until LO is 6 weeks and then pick up some sort of modified exercise routine until I can get back to gym/running.

  • Before I was pregnant I was doing LA Boxing and loved it, but stopped, and didnt pick up a new routine (other than daily dog walks).  I'll look forward to getting back to the gym - that is my happy place!

  • 1.  What are you doing for exercise?  How often?  Elliptical, walking, prenatal pilates, my chores on the farm!  I try to do at least one of those exercises daily about 5 days a week, +/- depending on how I feel.

    2.  How do you feel when you are working out?  Usually great, I try not to push it or do anything too strenuous when I'm tired.  I always feel better afterwards though.

    3.  Do you think you will be able to continue til the very end?  Fingers crossed.

    4.  Do you think it will help you get back into the routine after baby arrives?  Absolutely, it's helped to keep me feeling strong, healthy, and comfortable so far...especially this last trimester.

  • Nothing

    Never

Continue resting on the couch every night? Sure

  • 1.  What are you doing for exercise?  How often? I'm walking daily on my lunch break, with a long walk on the treadmill every other night.

    2.  How do you feel when you are working out? Good.

    3.  Do you think you will be able to continue til the very end? Yes.

    4.  Do you think it will help you get back into the routine after baby arrives? Without a doubt. I know it will.

  • 1.  What are you doing for exercise?  How often?  Not often enough.  Gym 1x per week (treadmill walking, then mostly body weight exercises (weighted squats, pushups, pullups, planks) & stretching); stroller walks with DD on weekends.

    2.  How do you feel when you are working out?  Not fabulous so I'm not super motivated to go more often.  I have to pee after about 5 minutes of walking, so that kinda sucks (especially when I'm a half mile from home!).  And I have pg-induced inguinal hernias in my groin that swell up like baseballs & ache when I work out, so overall not so fun.  But I think working out is VERY important for a healthy pg & good L&D & recovery, so to just cut it out alltogether is hard for me to do.

    3.  Do you think you will be able to continue til the very end?  I'm not doing much, so I hope so.  With my first pg, I exercised much more frequently and was at the gym on my due date, so its definitely do-able for you ladies who are still going often!

    4.  Do you think it will help you get back into the routine after baby arrives?  Experience tells me its harder than you think to find/make the time to go, especially if you juggle other responsibilities like work or other children.  However, a happy & healthy mom = happy & healthy family.  Exercise is my stress reliever and has always been a regular part of my life, so yes, I will make time even if its not as much as I would like.  Plus MH owns a Crossfit gym, so if nothing else, I'll be going to weekend classes there.

  • 1.  What are you doing for exercise?  How often?

Go to the YMCA and walk 2-3 times a week for about 30 minutes at 3mph.

    2.  How do you feel when you are working out?

Good but it brings on BH contractions towards the end so I suck down water. I'm never out of breath and feel like I'm doing something good.

    3.  Do you think you will be able to continue til the very end?

    Yes. It's not too strenuous.

    4.  Do you think it will help you get back into the routine after baby arrives?

Doubtful. It'll be like standing in a deep dark valley looking up the big mountain. It's going to be tough anyway you look at it.

    2. I feel great, wakes me up.

    3. I think so, it's low impact.

    4. Yes, I'm hoping for a speedy recovery, so I can return to my regular workout routine and pre-pregnant body/clothes.

  • I am chasing my 2 year old around for exercise! It's hard but I am keeping up pretty well. I feel that I am so much stronger going into this pregnancy after carting around a 2 year old. I remember how heavy he felt as a NB and now he barely feels heavy. Ok so I'm not really exercising but it does take lots of energy and discipline!

  • 1.  What are you doing for exercise?  How often? A little bit of everything.  Yoga, walking/hiking, moderate weight lifting.  We try to do something almost every day, even if it's a quick, 30 minute walk.

    2.  How do you feel when you are working out? I get tired pretty easily, so I just listen to my body.  When I feel like it's too much, I just back off.  I do feel like my body feels better when I work out than when I don't, as far as pregnancy aches and pains.

    3.  Do you think you will be able to continue til the very end? I'd like to try to at least keep up the walking and maybe some yoga.

    4.  Do you think it will help you get back into the routine after baby arrives? I think it will help at least keep the muscles strong.

  • I'm so jealous of you ladies!! I was exercising right until I was placed on bedrest at 29 weeks. I was taken off bedrest at 31 weeks but I'm still not allowed to exercise. I miss it (especially my zumba!) and I'm really looking forward to getting back into a normal routine. However, I'll be happily resting in the meantime because I definitely don't want to do anything to trigger PTL.

    1. What are you doing for exercise? How often? Walking my dog 2 miles a day. Everyday unless its raining or bad weather or something comes up, usually make it 5x week.

    2. How do you feel when you are working out? Ok

    3. Do you think you will be able to continue til the very end? Hope so

    4. Do you think it will help you get back into the routine after baby arrives? I hope so. It sure as hell hasn't helped with the weight

  • I miss exercise.

    1.  None right now except chase my son on my days off.  Although this past weekend I had that horrible stomach bug and was completely laid up.  I was running 5 miles/day 5days/week until around 13 weeks when I had some bleeding.  The doctor told me to switch to the elliptical and/or low impact exercises and I tried for a while, but it just wasn't enough to keep me motivated.  Plus, I just couldn't shake the scare out of my mind.

    2./3. N/A

    4. I can't wait to get back to the gym after DD, but it likely won't be until a year after her birth like with DS.  While on maternity leave, I'm sure we'll go for lots of walks. The trouble with the gym once I get back to work is that I won't have time because all my breaks will be taken up with pumping.  sigh!

    4.  Do you think it will help you get back into the routine after baby arrives?

    1. I walk my dogs for at least an hour every morning without fail. Some days it is an hour and a half. Today it was an hour and fifteen minutes.

    2. I love my daily walk. It's the high point of my day.

    3. I hope to get in one last walk with the dogs in early labor before I go to the hospital!

    4. I am a little concerned about juggling two dogs AND a stroller, but I will manage somehow. And I know we will all love the fresh air and sunshine.

  • A poll if you are still working out

    1.  What are you doing for exercise?  How often?

I work as a server, so I count that as exercise. I work 2 or 3 shifts a week, and each shift is 4 to 7 hours. I'm on my feet and moving around the whole time, so while it isn't strenuous it is certainly active!

    2.  How do you feel when you are working out?

Good, but often pretty beat by the end. I usually feel some BH on my way home.

    3.  Do you think you will be able to continue til the very end?

No idea. I hope to work until at least 2 or 3 weeks before my EDD.

    4.  Do you think it will help you get back into the routine after baby arrives?

A couple weeks after LO is born I think I'll go back to working one day a week. I also live in a really walk able area, so I'm thinking the little guy and I will go on daily walks.

  • I worked out often before my BFP but stopped once I found out I was pregnant again.  This past week or so I've started walking on the treadmill for 30-45 mins at a time and hope/plan to continue for the rest of my pregnancy.

I get BH contractions pretty consistently when I'm walking but my OB said that as long as they go away once I stop, then I can continue.

  • 1.  What are you doing for exercise?  How often? I run, bike and do the Body by Tri videos. I do one of those things at least 4x each week and walk other days.

    2.  How do you feel when you are working out? Usually, working out makes me feel so good I forget I'm 31.5 weeks pregnant! I have to remind myself not to push it too hard, which is starting to bum me out. I miss sweating like a beast and kicking ass!

    3.  Do you think you will be able to continue til the very end? Hope so, just signed up for a 5k on April 7!

    4.  Do you think it will help you get back into the routine after baby arrives? I'm raring to go! The hardest for me will be the 6 weeks pp, when workouts are basically off-limits except for walks. It will be hard to get back to a routine after that, plus I'm a little worried about hurting my milk supply by trying too much, too soon.

A poll if you are still working out -

    1.  What are you doing for exercise?  How often? Various types of cardio, really loving the elliptical though because it helps my posture and makes my back and hips feel really good. I typically do 20-30 mins of cardio/day We have a gym in our condo that is really convenient. I also have a great prenatal yoga dvd that I need to be doing more often.....

    2.  How do you feel when you are working out? Sometimes I feel grumpy when I'm putting on my shoes to go, other times I'm really gung-ho, but when I'm actually working out, I feel really good if I take it at a good pace and make sure I keep my water up during my workout. AFTERWARDS though, I always feel awesome.

    3.  Do you think you will be able to continue til the very end? Yes I do.

    4.  Do you think it will help you get back into the routine after baby arrives? Yes.

  • 1.  What are you doing for exercise?  How often?

Run after a 2 and 3 year old all day long, 7 days a week

    2.  How do you feel when you are working out?

Fine usually, when it gets too hectic then I sit and rest or send the girls upstairs to read books in their room

    3.  Do you think you will be able to continue til the very end?

    Yes

    4.  Do you think it will help you get back into the routine after baby arrives?

I sure hope so. But after baby arrives (and probably not until baby is 8 week or so) I plan to add in Jillian Micheals 30 day shred or some other DVD workout at home. Lots of walks and bike rides this summer for sure, also going to look into a baby and me swim class or at least a water aerobics class.

  • 1. What are you doing for exercise? How often?

Briskly walking around the neighborhood 4 or 5 times a week and 2 10 minute prenatal workout vids on youtube with yoga stretching afterwards 4 or 5 times a week. I stopped going to the gym in January.

    2. How do you feel when you are working out?

When I started back up again I felt like I was trying out for The Biggest Loser for about a week. Now it's getting to where my heartrate is barely getting up on my walks. I feel amazing afterwards, very loose and nothing hurts.

    3. Do you think you will be able to continue til the very end?

    At this point I do.

    4. Do you think it will help you get back into the routine after baby arrives?

Eh, my routine can get pretty vigorous. I mean I used to stock palates, float around a huge store in different departments, and do P90X so it might help with starting out but what I'm doing now is nothing compaired to what I've done before. And I do plan on going kung fu krazy on my fitness asap.

  • 1.  What are you doing for exercise?  How often?

    Spinning, 2 X per Week

    2.  How do you feel when you are working out?

    Fine.

    3.  Do you think you will be able to continue til the very end?

I hope to. I had to stop at 36 weeks last time (which will be next week for me)

    4.  Do you think it will help you get back into the routine after baby arrives?

Yes! I didn't want to take 9 months off and hope to return to the gym about 2 months PP.
  • 1.  What are you doing for exercise?  How often? Prior to last week, I was running 5 or 6 days (about 20 miles/wk) a week with light weights and yoga. I got sick last week and have been taking it really easy this week easing back into jogging and yoga again :)

    2.  How do you feel when you are working out? I've been feeling great! After last week, my dr. has been a bit paranoid, which makes me nervous. It feels good to get moving again now. Exercising has helped so much with the pregnancy symptoms!

    3.  Do you think you will be able to continue til the very end? I'm hoping so :) I'm just taking it day by day...

    4.  Do you think it will help you get back into the routine after baby arrives? Definitely! I've read that helps with labor, delivery, and the post-baby recovery.

Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from Him. Psalm 127:3 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28 BabyFruit Ticker Visit The Nest! imageimage
  •  1.  What are you doing for exercise?  How often?at 32 weeks I'm still doing bikram yoga about 2x a week (pregnancy postures) 2.  How do you feel when you are working out?I'm always glad that I went, even though I'm at the point where I can't do a lot of the postures that I used to.   I always sleep so much better after going, although i need a lot more water to rehydrate these days3.  Do you think you will be able to continue til the very end?At least another week or two in the hot room, after that, probably just the video in my own house.  4.  Do you think it will help you get back into the routine after baby arrives? I hope to go back asap after baby, but since it's a 90 minute class, it will be hard to schedule.  I also hope that it will help me breath through labor pains and remember to relax into discomfort instead of fighting my body.

  • 1.  What are you doing for exercise? I teach a Zumba class at least 2 times a week, sometimes up to 3.  The classes are an hour long.  If I can't get one of them in, I will do the elliptical.

    2.  How do you feel when you are working out? Awesome!!  I look forward to it and I love it during and after.

    3.  Do you think you will be able to continue til the very end?  I may not be able to teach the class until the end, but I will take it until the end.  And I will also do the elliptical until the end if I have to stop Zumba.

    4.  Do you think it will help you get back into the routine after baby arrives? I will totally go back to my job ASAP!!!!  I'm even going to train to teach another fitness platform.

    1. Walking 3 miles 4-5x per week and modified weightlifting (arms, shoulders, back) 1x per wk. Had to stop running last week and stopped doing legs a few wks ago because the weight on my knees was too much.

    2. Ok. Short of breath most times, cramping occasionally and tailbone pain occasionally.

    3. I will definitely continue walking even if it's at a slower pace.

    4. Yes! I'm doing Tough Mudder August 10th so I'm trying to stay as active as possible...I'm bummed that I can't really run anymore. I expected to be able to run a few more weeks but I'm petite and my belly is HUGE. How do people run up until the day they deliver?!? Are they all taller with smaller bellies?!?

  • 1.  What are you doing for exercise?  How often?
Tues - weight lifting back, biceps, and cardio (generally 20-30 min on the treadmill walking very slowly)
Thurs - weight lifting chest, triceps, shoulders, and cardio
Fri - weight lifting legs, sometimes abs

Oh, and I also curl Tuesday nights.

    2.  How do you feel when you are working out? I feel good while working out. I come home completely exhausted though.

    3.  Do you think you will be able to continue til the very end? I am planning to continue up until my c-section. DD2 is in preschool at the YMCA, so I exercise while she's in class. I don't know what else I'd do while I was there.

    4.  Do you think it will help you get back into the routine after baby arrives?
I hope so! DD2 will still have preschool through the end of the year, so once I'm cleared to exercise again, I will be right there to go back to the routine. I also plan to put both DD1 and DD2 in classes at the Y this summer to make sure I make it there to work out.

  • 1. I am going to yoga (regular, not prenatal) 3 times a week.

    2. I feel pretty good while doing yoga, I modify a decent amount of the poses as you're not supposed to twist or do inversions.

    3. I do think I'll be able to go until the end, but I'm thinking of adding in/subbing swimming for something different or if yoga becomes overly difficult.

    4. I do think that going 3 times a week most of the pregnancy has helped in that I'm used to the routine now and think I'll miss it so much afterward that I'll be ready to get back to it.

  • 1.  What are you doing for exercise?  How often? Running 3 miles 4x a week and walking and weight lifting 2x a week. 2.  How do you feel when you are working out?I feel pretty good for the most part. If I feel uncomfortable I will slow down and walk a little.  3.  Do you think you will be able to continue til the very end?I hope so :) 4.  Do you think it will help you get back into the routine after baby arrives? Yes, I hear this is one of the many benefits of exercising throughout your pregnancy.
