So I have had 5 betas so far. My doctor is not pleased and is unsure if I have a viable pregnancy. I know that only an u/s can determine at this point. The nurse said no matter what my doctor likes numbers to double. I thought they slowed down. Here are my numbers:
2/11 142.2
2/13 300
2/20 2190
2/23 4028
2/25 5856
Thanks ladies. I am so stressed...

Re: Hcg experts please come in
I don't consider myself an expert by any means but I believe the general wisdom is that the rise slows down as you get into the 1000s. And most people look for the doubling in 72 hours.
When is your u/s scheduled? What does your doc want you to do until then?

They rarely continue to double every 48 hours once they start getting above 1000. Besides, now that you are over 6 weeks it would make much more sense to just do an ultrasound. Ultrasounds trump betas.
FWIW, I think your betas are just fine. I'm not sure why your doctor is scaring you...I think he is highly misinformed.

Honestly, it looks great to me. I'm not an expert by any means, but they appear to be rising at a rate that is definitely appropriate.
U/S trumps betas at this point. After 1000, doubling time slows.
I could understand if you're doc wouldn't be pleased about numbers that were really low, but these numbers I don't see why he wouldn't be happy.

I'm not am hcg expert, but I agree with the PP's. I would see if they will do an u/s before March 5.
I'm sorry you're going through this. (((hugs)))

i agree with everyone else. My RE only does beta's until you're over 2000, then schedules an u/s.
At this point, an u/s is much more reliable than betas-they only tell you so much. Try not to worry until the 5th! (i know, easier said than done!)

Your betas are high enough that a normal doubling time is 96 hours. I'm sorry your doctor is making you nervous. FX for a good u/s next week.
