I was lurking on the february 2013 board and noticed one of the moms just had her 6th baby and her 6th son!!!
So it made me curious? Do you think any of you ladies will keep trying for more kids if you keep getting the same sex? Or do you just really want a big family?
I personally am having our 3rd and final baby. So there will be 5 of us. And although that may seem small, i never pictured having 3 kids. I always wanted
2 a boy and a girl. And now we have 1 of each. So im interested in knowing what this baby is going to be.
Re: curious?
I grew up in a family with 4 kids. I consider it a big family, not the biggest, but still. DH wants to stop at 2, and I'm inclined to agree.
However, I do think we'll keep trying til we have a boy, as DH is the last one to carry on his family name. Buuut, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it!
We don't even know the sex of this baby yet, so it may be a moot point!
I'm one of two and H is one of six. There are ups and downs to both. My biggest issue is helping pay for college for however many there are ultimately.

"If you're still my small babe
or you're all the way grown,
my promise to you
is you're never alone.
You are my angel, my darling,
my star...and my love will find you,
wherever you are."
My sister had 4 boys and to me that's a lot of kids I can't imagine 6.
We're planning on this being one our last for awhile. I would really like to adopt in a few years (at least 3), but if we don't end up adopting, this baby will be our last. We're obviously hoping for a boy, but everything in me feels like it's another girl, which will of course be wonderful too!

DD #3 born 08/29/13
I wouldn't keep trying to get a certain sex (though I really would like a girl).
This is our first. At most, I would like two. We have a lot of twins in our families, so I am always "worried" I might have twins (I would prefer to have singletons only). :-)
I don't know how we will feel (or where we will "be") when the time might be right to have a second one, so at least one, hopefully two.
When you've been married this long, you need a ticker to remind you.

Expecting Baby Bean February 2017
While I would like to stick with 2 kids, I did agree to have 3 if this is another girl. And if it is a 3rd girl, well then we have 3 girls. While I would like a boy as much as SO would, I am not going to just keep going until I have one. If this is a boy, super! I can be done if I want to be done. I don't love being pregnant so I would not want to do that too many more times
I went to high school with a girl who just had her 5th baby and the first 4 are boys, #5 was finally a girl.
Our plan has always been 2, regardless of gender. It would appear we are having two boys, and honestly that's fine with me.
I have one sister, H is one of four. Three is enough for us.
DH and I have always wanted 4, with at least one of each. We now have a boy and a girl, and are expecting #3. I hate being pregnant, and DH hates seeing me so miserable, so we finally decided that 3 it is.
I think the decision would have been made even if it was 3 of the same.
I think trying for a different sex is a really silly reason to have another baby.
Have another child because you want another one not because you want a boy/girl. You are not guaranteed to have any sex and what about the kid that is not your desired sex? That's a crappy way to come into the world.
We're probably done at two regardless of what sex this baby is. Although the curiosity is killing me.

All of this, except we weren't done at two! We always wanted a big family, but we also said we would take it one child at at time. It's easy to say "I wan 87 kids" when you don't have any, so we said we would "evaluate" after each child and see if adding one more to the mix would work. So far the answer has been yes.
I totally get "wanting the family name to live on" or "buying pretty dresses and bows" but it's not a reason to have another child... (not to mention there is no guarantee your son is going to get married and have kids, or your daughter is going to want to be dressed up like a pretty princess).
If I had met my husband earlier, we both would have wanted 5 kids.
Unfortunately we met a bit further down the track, and then have had trouble conceiving so this is my first at 36 (37 when LO is born). We have already said we would like to have at least one more, which will have me at around 40 assuming we don't have major problems again) and probably be done.
My husband has 2 boys from previous relationships, one of which I have lived with and helped raise since he was 1 (now 8) so we would basically have 3 kids anyway.
I wouldn't ever go back for more just to try and get a certain gender.
