swelling - update

so i posted (whined) about my overly swollen ankles/feet/calves the other day. It has now been since last Friday that I can not get the swelling to go down, elevating my feet, cutting back on sodium, drinking tons of water, etc...

i just called the docs - i figured it cant hurt. I just hope everything is okay. baby is moving so i am not worried about her. just hope my bp isnt too high.

T&P appreciated.... sorry for being dramatic!

Re: swelling - update

  • I've been swollen pretty bad for about 2 weeks now.  My doctor told me it was normal at the end of the pregnancy.  Your body retains more water.  My blood pressure is normal, so I'm not worried about it.  Hopefully, you are fine too.

  • I had the same issue but was stubborn so my husband brought it up with my OB!  My BP has been climbing so I'm now on a home antenatal program where a nurse comes to draw blood, check my BP, and do a non-stress test 3x per week.  I have to take my own BP 3x per day and check my urine daily for protein.

  • I have been having this the past couple of weeks.  Nothing is helping.  But my bp's have been fine and no protein in my urine so I guess its just part of the pregnancy.  Hope everything is okay with you.
  • Thanks ladies! I am glad I am not the only one in this boat! It is uncomfortable!!

The doc made me move my appointment from tomorrow to tonight to check everything out. I figure it cant hurt. My BP has been high for me (usually about 105/60 and its been about 135/85).

I am still working full time for a financial services company so I am bogged down at my desk ALL day! Part of me is hoping they tell me I have to do slight bedrest/work from home situation.

  • I can totally relate!  My feet & calves feel like they are going to explode.  So uncomfortable!  I actually do better when I'm walking around at work and drinking lots of water.  (vs. sitting at home with my feet up!)  On the upside, I've heard that everything will go back to normal as soon as LO has arrived.  Fingers crossed!
