Really?! Crossed legs!?

After waiting until the 20 weeks ultrasound to Come and go we still don't know the sex! I'm happy it all checked out really well but gender unknow still! Anyone else have a baby that loves sitting Indian style and have to wait to find out the sex?! Guess that means no shopping STILL, bank will be glad.

  • DD had her legs crossed and pulled up. At both a/s's. we had to go twice because they couldn't get all the measurements. We ended up doing a 3d towards the end.
  • I was told to keep my bladder extra full to lift the baby out of the pelvis and try drinking juice the sugar makes the baby move more next time... It's very exciting going from the 12 week ultrasound where it looks like a tadpole to the 20 week where it's very recognizable as a baby

Is that when you were able to find out the gender?

They 'guessed' at the second a/s, but we wanted to be sure. The 3d confirmed it.

Drinking sugary stuff can actually make them move too much for the techs to get the measurements. I'd probably not go that route.

  • This is my fear! We are having a gender reveal baby shower and the whole thing is themed around boy/girl... Baby blue baby pink and the big reveal! What of baby doesn't cooperate?! Guess it would be yellow balloons flying out instead of pink or blue! sorry guests lol ...Can't worry about that stuff tho! Team green by default isn't the worst. At least all looks heathly for you :
  • congrats on the healthy baby. sorry you could not find out the sex. i was worried this might happen to me but was going to go to a elective 3d u/s if need be, you shoukd check in to it, they are pretty neat.
  • We have one scheduled for tomorrow, and I really hope this is not the case! We have a gender reveal cake planned for a shower in a couple weeks...  Sorry you didn't get to find out. :( At least you have a healthy baby!
  • Our baby had his or her legs crossed during the entire scan. We went to an elective place and baby was not shy that day.
  • It happens.

I had to drink the glucose drink right before my ultrasound. LO was so squirmy in there they couldn't get all the measurements they needed. So be careful with the juice thing.

  • My tech had a hard time with kiddo's positioning to find out the sex so she had me lay on my side and roll over so she could get a better angle/view. You could always get an elective ultrasound if finding out is important!

  • Our munchkin had her legs crossed for almost the entire ultrasound as well!  About half way through they had me get up and pee so that she would move around a little bit and she uncrossed them for just a few minutes, enough to confirm that she is a girl!

  • Thanks for all the advise! I will do that next time and I'm for sure looking into an elective ultrasound place around here! The baby was a bc baby so we've had enough surprises! Lol
  • We have our ultrasound today at 19 weeks!  Our gender reveal party is Sunday and I've been worried about the same thing.  It's not in our hands though!  So anxious :)
  • DD had her legs crossed during our A/S and they wouldn't do another unless there were other questions or issues, so everything for DD was yellow and green until she was born.

  • We had our U/S today and our DD fought us every step of the way! She kept covering her parts so we couldn't see if she was a girl or not, and then when we tried to get pics of her, she kept covering her eyes, her face and turning her back to us....Handful already! I blame her daddy! lololol
  • Aw I am sorry your baby did not want to flash the goods for you today. My girl tried that during my 20 week scan, she had her legs crossed almost the entire time then gave up and showed us. We had found out she was a girl during a 16 week scan, but I was not ready to trust it since she was only 16 weeks and really needed to see it again to believe it.
