  • We have an embarrassing amount of Good Luck Charlie on the DVR. On a good [bad?] night, we clear out 6 episodes.

    Also, Adventure Time is great.

  • i really don't mean this in any type of snobby way, but it wouldn't even occur to me to put on a kids show for DD right now. the only thing on our tv is what we are watching and even then i TRY to keep her facing away from it. i totally get STMs having kids shows that they put on regularly, but are people with just our 6 month olds really putting on tv for their kids? does it really matter? i feel like IF she was watching tv, she'd be just has happy watching cspan as a cartoon right now. with all that being said, she does spend some time on saturday mornings watching sponge bob while i'm on my bike. DH has always loved spongebob and i think he's just so happy to have someone to watch it with him now. ;)

I don't think anyone was saying what their babies favorite show is ie: "LO LOVES watching blah blah blah", but since having DD I started watching kids shows to see what the hype was about, and discovered I actually love Pocoyo. I really think she likes the colors/sounds of Pocoyo better than something like Judge Judy. So if I want something on in the background, Pocoyo it is.

Eta: the only time I have the TV on for "her" to watch is when DH is gone on the weekends and she is napping in the swing while I shower so that she's not "alone" when she wakes up.

yours did not, but i have actually seen posts (mostly on FB) saying stuff like DD/DS loves (insert show).  i always find myself thinking, really?  do they or do you?  my DD only responds with interest to loud TV sounds (like zombies Stick out tongue )

also, i bet rhomonks DD watches judge judy and LOVES it.

  • I EFFING LOVE POCOYO! Hes so cute! We have 4 DVDs!

I also really like Octonauts. I was counting educational things in it the other day and it was really good. Also the animation is super cute!

    And Little Einsteins is good.

I want to stab the Wonder Pets.

I heard Wonder Pets once and it was enough to make me want to bang my head against the wall. "The phone, the phone is ringing..."

Lol...I can just picture rhomonks DD banging a toy on the ground gavel style with judge Judy in the background!

Ditto what you said Hooslisa. It hasn't even occurred to me to put on kids shows. If the TV is on while she's awake, DD seems most interested in hockey. Or maybe that's just what's always on in our house [thanks to DH!]

Glad I'm not the only one. I don't watch tv much. The only thing Howell sees is the end of Good Morning America if he's up before it's over and the occasional special occasion thing, playoffs, the election, that kind of thing.

  • I just answered what kids shows I like and will let DS watch when he is older. I don't put hi. In front of the TV now, I don't see the point.

  • The only kid show I will say J likes is MM Clubhouse. Since he was just a couple months old, the beginning part where Mickey walks up, talks, and they have the intro song, has made him happy. Just those 2 minutes saved my sanity many times. I found this out from being at my sister's house, and her kids watch Disney junior.

I like some MM Clubhouse, Doc McStuffins. Something about this little girl pretending to take care of her toys is just so cute to me. I'd like Octonauts if they didn't show the same 2 episodes all the time.

I've been watching Spongebob ever since it first aired. I love it, still. I quote the show, and giggle like a little kid.

  • I think I have a pretty high tolerance to kids shows. There's really not much that bothers me. DD2 doesn't really watch anything yet. DD1 is big into Disney junior and Nick junior. Oh and let's not forget Disney Princess movies. We are big Disney fans here. The only shows that really annoys me is Caillou. That and Dora.

  • Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, Pingu. I could watch any of them all day.

  • I like Blue's Clues. I watched it in high school with my sisters. Smile

DD and DS don't watch anything yet, but I will enjoy watching it with them later on.

Have you seen the SNL TV Funhouse parody of Dora? It's hilarious. I can't stand her, Diego, or Kai Lan. I have a very low tolerance though. When Howell is old enough, I could see being ok with Arthur. I think there are a lot of funny shows for like seven and eight year olds, too.

    Arthur and the Bernstein bears!

I love the PBS shows! DD really likes Berenatain bears, Clifford, curious George and the Cat in the Hat. It's great because we have all those books in her library so she references them all the time. She will also talk about an episode for days and understands the "morals" or "lessons".
DS will sit still for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on Disney jr. He won't watch the whole show obviously but will glance at it and smile then get back to playing again. It buys me some
Much needed time for showers after our morning walks.
DD and I enjoy Doc mcStuffins too. Such a cute show. And I LOVE little Einsteins. DD can tell the difference between the composers and when we hear a song on Pandoras classical station she will almost always know how it goes and hum along to it. I think TV with the right shows and in moderation is awesome.

Oh, Lisa... Leo has a nightly viewing of Sesame Street.  Do I think he's going to pick up on the word of the day while playing in his exersaucer?  No.  But do I think the brightly colored puppets amuse him?  Yes, yes I do.  It also gives me a chance to do a load of laundry and change out of my work clothes.  No apologies here.

I also learned on mat leave that Leo loooooooves General Hospital.  He's seriously interested in some of the characters.

for the record. I'm not judging the watching of tv. that's another debate. I'm just saying dd doesn't care whether it's an actual kid show that's on.

Oh Kiki just wait until he can talk. DD1 loved Jason. She knows some other characters too, it's hysterical. She was upset last year when the theme song changed.

I use to believe at this age ANYTHING on the TV would be amusing. However, I have a 5 yr old nephew who enjoys watching Sprout TV (kids channel) and I can tell you on the occasion when visiting and Koa is watching along, he is mesmerized by that hoopla of a show Yo Gabba Gabba!! He also can sit and watch Veggie Tales and Pocoyo without blinking! I rather love the later two shows most!

We otherwise don't normally have him "watching TV" - but I have put on his baby Einstein DVDs which he watches for all of max 20 mins before needing some other amusement.

  • I hate them all LOL  ...Okay, not really.

DS watches some shows that aren't too bad, like Little Bear and Franklin.  He'll even watch Mr. Rogers repeats on Amazon Prime.  I don't like the shows that are really flashy and loud.

DD doesn't even pay attention to the tv, and before kids I never turned kids shows on :P

  • Sometimes I like Sesame Street. Bert and Ernie are my faves with Oscar a close second. I like the Bernstein bears. I cannot stand cailou.

  • When are all these different shows on PBS?  We only have an antenna, so we sortof get PBS if the stars are aligned.  But I think every time I've turned it on it is Sid the Science Kid.  My 2-year-old will not watch TV, which is not a bad thing, but it would be nice to have something to occupy him occasionally when I need to get something done.  I finally managed to get him to sit still for Baby Einstein videos a few times in the last month when I had to put DD to bed & DH was out coaching basketball games.
