Getting my kid's hair cut

DD1 has been begging me to get her hair cut, so I called the salon by her DC and was told a kids' cut was $25. Is it me or does that sound ridiculously expensive?

That's nuts. I don't pay that much for my own hair to get cut. Not that I go very often, but last time I went, I think it was $16 for a wash and cut.

Never heard of it, so I'm gonna say no.

I made a few phone calls and there's another place nearby that charges $14. Sounds much more reasonable to me.

I still can't get over that $25 though. Seriously.

My MIL gets a wash, trim, and dye touch up every other week and spends $100 EACH time. I about dropped.

$25 for a child sounds like a lot.. but that is coming from someone who has not had a hair cut in over a year.

That's crazy! First choice will do it for like 4 to 10 dollars. Don't know if you have them in frenchy ville.

LOL @ Frenchy Ville. (on a side note, there was a major uproar this week because someone decided that the menu of an Italian restaurant shouldn't say "pasta" because it's not French. Really? I wonder how they feel about won ton soup. And gnocchi. And packzi.)

Never heard of First Choice. I'm sure we have some of those chains you ladies mentioned, but I don't feel like driving 20-30 minutes to get to them. And I figured a small local place would be cheaper (hmmm... I guess I figured wrong for some of those places...)

The one time we got DS's haircut, we did the "First Haircut" package at a kids' place (Pigtails and Crewcuts), and I think it was around $25. The normal price is around $20, but I'm going to find something cheaper for next time.
