RNP and daycare

I'd love to hear the opinion of RNP moms who are returning to work. My DD loves her RNP she sleeps, naps, and loves to hang out in it. She starts DC next week and I'm nervous she won't nap and spend her day crying :. she hates her crib and will only nap there if she's on her tummy, which her DC will not allow completely understandable, I only allow it at home because I supervise her.

I expressed this concern to the owner and she said that I could bring one in. But she uses her RNP to sleep at night so I'd have to buy another one to keep at DC. I'm not 100 sure that I want to stay in the workforce so if in 2 months or so I decide to be a SAHM I would have made an unnecessary investment.

I guess I just want to hear success stories of other RNP moms and their LO's DC stay.

Re: RNP and daycare

  • Do they have bouncy seats at DC? Could she sleep in one of those? That would give them same inclined, snuggled feeling. You could even get a bouncy seat really cheap at a baby consignment shop to bring in if they don't have them and she'd sleep in one. Maybe a cheaper option in case you don't stay at your job.

  • another option would be to try and find a RNP at a consignment sale..that way you wouldn't have to pay full price, and you could sell it on consignment when you're finished with it and make some of the money you spent on it back.

  • I actually bought two. One for my Mom's house and one for us. However, I plan to stay in the workforce and thought the convenience of having two (one to keep in the car, at my Mom's, at daycare, etc. and one to keep at our house) was worth it. In fact if I thought my husband would let me buy 4 of them I would :)

  • That's a good idea.. I'll try to get her to nap in her bouncy chair and see if she likes it, if not ill check out a consignment store. Thank you ladies!

  • Faye sleeps ina rnp. At day care she does the crib, if she fusses they hold hee or put her ina swing/bouncer. I say see how it goes. She may not sle much while there. Dd only sleeps MAYBE 1 of the 56hrs she's there but if she were at home shed be sleeping the whole time
