Pregnant after IF

Exercise

I may be alone here but I'm scared to do any kind of exercise right now because of the bleeding/spotting/IVF and even though I got the all clear from the RE to get off bed rest, I'm scared.  Not to mention the m/s has kicked in. SHEW!  Something in me is telling me that if I got active I wouldn't feel like such a sloth all day.

Any recommendations from the other Moms to be on what I can do that is safe in the first tri?

I might be the other extreme, but I think exercising helped my m/s. it keeps me sane when I exercise. I jog 3 to 4 times per week. I spin 2 times per week and I swim two times per week. It's all easy enough to have a conversation at any time. I only started after the all clear from my RE. I believe exercise is important during pg, even simply walking will help keep swelling down and blood pressure down. Find your mojo and enjoy it!!

If nothing else I would at least try walking... it's low impact, and I found that it can actually help with the m/s. First tri was definitely tough and even into second (I had m/s til 18-19w), but I was back to normal exercise in second tri and its made my pregnancy so much easier. I'm almost 31w with twins and other than the normal aches and random pains, I've been doing great and my girls are both healthy and growing right on track.

As long as you have the 'all clear' from your RE, I say mind over matter and just try for some light activity in the beginning until you're more comfortable, but I really think you'll feel better with some activity.

I was doing all kinds of high impact exercises (cross fit, hot yoga, running, etc) before my IVF.  I was like you and was so scared to go back to the gym to even do light exercise after I became pregnant.

I eventually started walking on a treadmill for 30 min during lunch hour and prenatal yoga once a week.  When the weather is nice, I walk outside with my DH and dog and I feel mentally and physically great!

I got a puppy about 2 months before finding out I was pregnant. I had to walk him twice a day all through my first tri. Sometimes I felt like I was going to puke on a neighbour's lawn but I do think it helped my overall feeling of well being back then. I know lots of other women like swimming- especially as they get bigger.
