City Mini GT Double Stroller- any one have one?

Trying to get some feedback on this stroller.  Interested in using it for daily power walking through my neighborhood, which is hilly.  Looked at the double BOB, but it seems to be cheaply made.  Do you like your city mini gt?  Do you think I can use it for power walking and occasional light jogging?  Any complaints?  Thanks :)

  • Where did you look at the BOB? We bought a BOB as I've known so many families that have them.  Many of them have had the BOB for 5-6+ years, used them for numerous children and their BOBs have survived quite the beatings and they are still in great condition!

I've never heard anyone say they are cheaply made.  I've heard complaints they are too big and bulky and it's not their style...but those things are beasts (hence the name)!

  • I have single city mini. Does not do well on half inch or more bumps like transitioning down idriveway to street where theres additional bump due to street repave was uneven by curb. Not sure if the GT wheels would better handle that. Like it otherwise with infant adaper for carseat to go on. Be warned, my single tipped going down steep hill when tried to quickly pull to the side so would rotate and move backwards up hill. LO was in mounted infant seat ... thankfully she was all strapped in. After that experience and another parent turned to check on us and her LO went rolling downhill in her stroller, would STRONGLY reccomend somethig with auto locking hand break if regularly on hills. My stroller would not have been pulled in the way that caused it to tip if it had the auto lock. And the other stroller wolud not have run away either. It is amazing what a lack of sleep does to our brains.

If recall correctly, gt like the regular city mini is NOT a jogging stroller because the manual warns that front wheel will cause it to tip. Could be different for the double but would download the manual from Baby Jogger's website to be sure. BTW, friends have BOB if you're looking at the new one that is equivalent to City Mini and approx same price point, it isn't a jogger either.

  • The GT city mini is NOT a jogging stroller.  So jogging with this is not a good idea.

  • We have the single CM GT and I LOVE it! One of the reasons that I, too, wanted it was for power walking around the neighborhood and the ability to "off road" so-to-speak with the bigger more rugged front wheel.  We have a very hilly neighborhood also.  It is also (at least the single) small enough that it easily transition to running errands, going to the mall, etc. It's pretty much our go-to stroller for everything.   I don't think, however, it is made for light jogging and I think even the Baby Jogger website says that.  They recommend getting a true jogging stroller for any type of jogging/running.

  • the mini is not made for jogging. it doesn't have the right tires (min 12 in) or suspension. I think you mean the fabric/features of the BOB are cheap, because structurally it's the best there is. But, it's not a well thought-out every day stroller. For walking, I think the single front wheel on a double is problematic.
If your budget allows, look at the Bumbleride indie or valco tri-mode, or a used city elite or summit double
