sub: for those who freeze baby food
i'm looking to make batches of baby food, freeze them in trays and then dump the trays into a freezer bag for storage (so i can reuse the trays).
my question is, if you are doing this, what type of trays are you using? are just straight up ice cube trays okay or do you recommend paying more for the baby food specific ones? they baby food specific ones seem like a gimic to me. do you think the frozen food will come out cleanly from an ice cube tray?
thanks!

Proud Mama to cleft cutie
I have these that I love (sorry I can't seem to make clicky in Chrome):

And then I have these silicone one that I hate (and these are more like 2oz portions, not 1oz):

thanks everyone!
i just ordered a set of the one that grins said she liked and then a generic version of the beaba silicone ones. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B2G6OQA/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
the silicone ones aren't prime eligible. i ordered two and the shipping was almost as much as the trays...even still, the total for two was about what it would cost me for one of the beaba ones. i'll give you the review once i've used them.
I bought these trays:

They are essentially glorified ice cube trays, but they don't have some of the gross stuff in them that goes along with cheap plastic containers, and I like that they have lids and store in the freezer more easily than ice cube trays.
They have worked well for us so far.
I froze food in silicone muffin pans once... SO hard to get out. I don't know if the ice cube trays work better somehow, but I'm never doing that again.
I use regular ice cube trays & they are just fine. My dad got me some "fancy" ones with lids for Christmas (b/c I asked for them), but I don't even like them as much as my old random ones. The lids mean you can't overfill the cubes AT ALL, and they don't hold much that way.
ETA: fixed a dumb auto correct mistake.
You don't have to if you aren't using them for storage, but just to freeze. You can cover them with shrink wrap and then once they're frozen, move them over to freezer bags. I bought the ones made for baby food/with covers because I didn't want to risk them being knocked over in the freezer in the process and make a mess (that kind of stuff happens to me lol), plus they're safer plastic than just regular ice cube trays (though I don't worry about that stuff a whole lot to be honest).
I used the cheapest ice cube trays from Bed, Bath, and Beyond.
It's a bit challenging to get the food out, but it comes out just fine. The cubes are in tact.
