Fisher Price Seahorse

Does anyone have this, that can give me a review?

I saw it the other day and thought maybe K would like it. We co-sleep but sometimes I try to lay him in his bed after rocking him to do some house work or just watch tv alone for a bit. Usually I get about 10 minutes before LO is awake and upset. I think maybe the extra light and music might help. We have the Cloud B Sleep Sheep but it doesn't have the light and even though I keep the dimmed lamp on I think it might not be enough light.

Re: Fisher Price Seahorse

  • Worth every penny. DS didn't like it when he was 2 months old. Now, he won't go to sleep without it. It shuts off after five minutes or so though, so if you want something to keep him entertained, I don't know if this would be it because every time it shuts off, you have to go back in and turn it back on, until he learns how to turn it back on himself.

It is awesome for getting them to sleep though.

We love the Seahorse. DS cuddles it to sleep most nights. It only plays/lights up music for 10 minutes but I think he's figured out how to push it to turn it back on. Well, he turns it on sometimes, not sure if it's on purpose or on accident!

Another option would be one of the aquarium type things, I think you can set them to stay on longer. My mom has one for DS in the crib at her house and he loves it. https://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Ocean-Wonders-Deep-Soother/dp/B003TLAHLO/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1361839557&sr=8-4&keywords=fisher+price+aquarium

I saw something like that too!! It was a zoo or a farm, I think. It looked neat.

We have one like this and LO loves it. It was a huge help last week when we transitioned from co sleeping to her crib.
  • DS1 wasn't at all into it.  DS2 totally loves it.  I use it the mornings after his bottle when I hope he'll go back to sleep in the swing while I get ready for work.  He is almost always asleep (cuddling it) by the time the music and light go off.

  • DD loves it, totally worth it. We use it for car rides and it stays in her crib at night - now that she's older.

She falls asleep to it and it calms her down when I am not around.

  • We have the seahorse and sleep sheep.  Micah loves both but I prefer the Sleep Sheep cause it will play for up to 45 minutes and the Seahorse turns off after 5

  • My LO loves that thing. I actually used it as a prop next to her when she would sleep wgen she was younger since she only knew how to roll from back to front and would cry to be flipped back. So that helped. I would only turn it on if she wouldnt sleep and it always made her go right to bed. My one complaint now is since she learned how to turn it on recently I will wake up in the middle of the night from it when I hear the music coming through the monitor if she wakes up and turns it on. But thats better than her waking up and crying I suppose.

  • LOVE the seahorse.  As most PPs have said, my LO uses it on those nights when she's still awake after bedtime routine and it seems to really soothe her.  Now that she's older, I leave it in the crib and so she associates it with nap or bedtime.  Naps are still tough, but that's not the seahorse's fault. Tongue Tied

In the mornings, she will often wake up and play with it for a few minutes before she starts screaming for her bottle, so that makes a nicer transition for everyone.

  • We share a room, and DD loves her seahorse over any thing else we've tried to help her go to sleep while mommy has "mommy time"
