How Long?

Hello everyone,

I started Met today for PCOS. 1000 mg a day...500 in the am and 500 in the pm. I know the major side effect to expect. Dreading it! But those of you who have taken it or are taking it, how long did it take your body to adjust and not have diarrhea or upset stomach?

    Ah! Thanks so much. He truly is the best dog. I was honestly nervous when I got him as a puppy bc I didn't want a yippy, mean chihuahua. So I set out to prove I could raise a nice one. I have to say its probably more so that I just got lucky with him! Haha. But he is wonderful. Thanks and GL to you as well!

    Everyone is differnt, but every time I went up a dose it took about 3-4 days for my body to get used to it.  However I have a friend who can't take it because she gets so ill, so I guess some people never adjust.

     My Pregnancy/Parenting BLOG TTC since 5/2011, BFP #1 12/3/11, M/C 12/7/11 @ 4wks 2d. Began seeing RE Sep 2012. October 2012 Metformin 1500 mg= ovulation on CD34 BFP#2 11/14/12 9DPO, EDD 7/26/13, DX Gestational Diabetes @14 wks, our angel born sleeping 3/24/13 @ 22wks 2d. BFP #3 7/4/13 8DPO EDD 3/22/14, DX Gestational Diabetes @14 wks. started insulin @16 wks.  Our rainbow, born 3/19/14 @ 39wks 6d., we're so in love!

    It took me about 2 weeks to get used to it and for the side effects to mostly subside.  However, metformin regularly makes me poop .... so I don't know if that side effect goes away.  lol, I keep telling myself that must be that "weight loss" effect I keep hearing about! haha.
