Grandma to the rescue

So as you know, DD2 has pneumonia. We just got her started on antibiotics yesterday. She had a pretty rough weekend, and I felt bad about sending her to DC today, so I took a chance and called my mom last night to ask her if she was free to come and watch her today. I wasn't really expecting her to come, as she lives over 2 hours away - but she did. She hit the road a little after 5 this morning so that DH and I could get to work on time. (!!!)

I am SO glad she was able to come today, too. DD2 spent half the day napping - there's no way she could have gotten that much rest if she'd been to DC. Plus DD1 got to see her grandma - you all should have seen her face when my mom walked in the door this morning

I really owe my mom big for this one.

I'm totally jellies. My mom can't do that kind of thing because she works, but even if she didn't she wouldn't drive two hours out of her way to babysit DDs for a few hours. Poo.

I didn't comment on your earlier post, but I'm so sorry to hear that she has pneumonia. It's really nice of your mom to come, though - that must be such a relief.
