Parenting after a Loss

Four Month Wakeful

Hi ladies, long time no see :)

I know I've been terrible about keeping up with the Bump, but literally, a month ago, DS went through a three month growth spurt, then we transitioned to a crib (from a bassinet) for exactly five days of STTN, before he had his first cold that lasted TEN days D:  We've been trying to get back to a routine/schedule ever since, but he no longer is STTN . . . and now is fighting naps, and is VERY clingy.  Dear googily-goo if I don't keep eye contact with that boy continuously he *wails* lol.

I know the time will pass too quickly, and before I know it, he'll wail at the thought of being too close to me (welcome adolescence).  So I'm being careful not to fret too much about it now.  But I will admit, it has been getting worse, and literally yesterday, I had two and a half hours of (broken sleep), in a twenty four period (I'm not even kidding).  He's still falling asleep at six, so that's good, and so far, so good (it's 7:40 PM here), but this is the longest stretch he's had in *days*.

I guess this is more of a vent than anything else, but really I just wanted to say that I'm thinking of all you PAL's - missing you, and seeing those cute babies every week during BPF's.  I'm definitely thinking of you all, and am excited to catch up to everyone (eventually)! :D

Wish me luck that tonight goes better!  And if not, that I'll get some sleep when DH comes home from his night shift ;P

  • I am sorry you are having a rough time. Just be consistent with the routine you had been using before he got sick.  This will all pass.  I chuckled at your comment about wanting space.   My 3 year old still climbs all over us when we just want some peace and quiet on the couch!
