I'm debating signing Noah up for either a gymnastics class for 2-3 year olds or a soccer class for 2-3 year olds. Gynmastics is $67 (what?!) while soccer is $32. What do you think Noah would enjoy more?
We do gymnastics right now and he looooves it! It's been great to let him figure it out without a ton of interventions. The mats make things super fun.
With that said, we are dropping gymnastics in April for an outdoor sports class because we want to be outside!
Well, I can't tell you what your kid would like more, but we are signing Griffin up for soccer in March. But my kid is OBSESSED with any type of ball-related activity (no jokes, haha!) and he will absolutely love being able to play with a soccer ball. Why not try one and then the other? I don't know how long yours lasts, but I think our soccer is just 8 weeks.
There is a toddler soccer program in my area and from what I've heard from the moms at dance, there's not a lot of actual playing of soccer going on. The coaches aren't super qualified to work with toddlers so they let them go off and do their own thing, they take a lot of breaks, don't spend much time playing with the soccer balls etc. I'm guessing that for half the price of gymnastics, your soccer program may be of similar quality. I've heard nothing but positives from parents of kids who go to all different gymnastics places.

I agree with this . DS1 started soccer at 18months we've paid 30 dollars for "Mommy and Me" soccer which is basically songs, stretching, and running around sometimes with a ball, 50 dollars for a preschool program where they learned many of the basics but still played games and it was fine if they ran off field to talk to Mommy or Daddy or catch butterflies, and 85 dollars for an actual school age soccer season with practices and games with referees.
Gymnastics is always more expensive for some reason, but I find that Charlie gets more out of it than he would standing on a field for 30 minutes a week.
C goes for about an hour once a week and LOVES it. They dance, sing, jump, swing on the bars, etc. If you can budget it, I highly recommend gymnastics - especially during these still learning to follow rules times. ;-)
"I wanted you more than you'll ever know, so I sent love to follow wherever you go."
We've been in gymnastics for a few months now. We were just going to do it for the winter months but i've seen C improve so much since then that i'm just keeping her in until swim lessons this summer. Soccer sounds fun, i wish they offered something like that in my area.
I guess I should have rephased by question better I was curious as to what your LO's have enjoyed out of the two. I think I want him to do the gymnastics, but DH has a stigma when you say gynmastics, he's thinking men in leotards...I'm trying to explain that Noah is two
Re: What do you think?
Not knowing your kiddo, your guess is as good as mine ;-)
I'd do soccer first since it's cheaper!
