Due Date question

Ok, so I called yesterday to schedule my 1st appointment and I don't go in to see the nurse until 10 weeks. When they asked my lmp I told them Nov 3rd which puts me at like 6 weeks 3 days.  Since I know my ovulation date I've been thinking I'm at 4 weeks 3 days.  Which date should I be going by? Should I say 6 weeks until I meet with them? Are they more likely to go by the ovulation date since I've been charting? Thanks!

    They will still use the LMP date.  I did IVF so no the exact minute I got pregnant but they still go by your LMP.  It's just easier to have everyone's 6 week measurement mean the same thing, even if the baby is really only 4 weeks.

    I am having the same dilemma. I know I didnt ovulate on CD 14 because I took Clomid and had an ultrasound that day and my follicle was not measuring big enough then. I also can't go until week 10, what a long wait.

    I would go by LMP for now and then when you meet with the provider bring your charting stuff. They may just decide to do an ultrasound to settle it.

    My doctor's office always goes by the LMP. HTH!

    they go by LMP, not ovulation / conception date.

    Thanks girls! I guess I'm moving up to 6 weeks 3 days! :)

     

    And yes, 10 weeks is a long time to wait!  Hopefully with Christmas the time will go faster.  And at the clinic I go to they don't do ultrasounds until 20 weeks unless for bleeding.  So I doubt I'll get an early one. I thought maybe I would since I was on Clomid, but I don't think I will!

    if you opt to do any of the genetic testing, you will probably get a u/s around 12 weeks.

    Sorry... the bump had a hiccup I guess.  Anyways, as I was saying.

    Great question!  I was think the exact thing!  I O'd on CD 21 so, technically I'm 4 wks, but will take the extra week.  First appt. with MD isn't until Jan so my EDD be moved anyways.

    If you count from LMP pregnancy is 40 weeks, if you count from ovulation, it's 38 weeks.  Not always 2 weeks between the two, but you can do the math!

    Yeah I'm having trouble with the same thing.  My LMP puts me at 8 weeks, but based on my charted ovulation date I should only be 6 weeks.  When I did the u/s I dated 6 weeks, but my doctor is concerned that I am measuring small for 8 weeks. It is very frustrating!!

    I have the same issue.  According to LMP I should be 7 weeks because I O'd on CD 27--very late.  But by O date I am 5 weeks and u/s shows 5 weeks as well.  I don't want to worry that my baby is measuring small the entire pg so for my purposes I am 5 weeks and just right, size-wise.  They'll figure it out after a couple U/S.  Good luck!
