Re: TTC Check-In

  • Today is CD20. I am 5DPO. Feeling pretty... normal.

QOTD: I am trying to take up crochet and/or knitting. I signed up for a crochet class this weekend. I'd love to make washclothes, sweaters, stuffed toys, etc. One step at a time.

  • Hellooo!  We are back in the TTC world.

My period came FIVE days early this week - so while I wasn't expecting to bleed until Friday we had our CD1 today.  Conveniently it lined up with our discussion appt with our RE - so we did our monitoring today too.

We're on for this cycle - 150ml Puregon daily with a growth check & possible dosage adjustment on Day 6.   Ovidril trigger + progesterone, and one iui with frozen sperm.

Our appt with the doc was REALLY good.  We sat down with her and asked all our questions, discussed scenarios, and we had a chance to let her know pretty honestly about where our limits are and what our next plan is if the next two cycles don't work.

All in all - I'm feeling GOOD.  The month break was much-needed and appreciated, and I feel rejuvenated to try again!

QOTD:   I just decided (last weekend) to learn to play the ukelele!    I signed up for lessons during what will be our 2ww, and spent yesterday sewing a gig bag for the uke I'm going to go buy today :)   It feels good to have a non-baby related activity to turn to.

  • Hello all,

I am CD12, we have our ultrasound this afternoon for IUI planning this week.  This is the first cycle that we also did a early cycle US, so it will be interesting to compare the two and really see how things have progressed this cycle.  We are staying positive that the third time is a charm, hopefully.  If we don't have a positive this cycle, we are planning to take a break and decide where to go from here, back to back IUIs vs IF testing vs clomid start.

I am feeling okay, this is the first cycle that I am not really excited.  I am comfortable with everything and it is starting to feel routine almost.  That may be a good thing for me though.  If I can avoid the anticipation maybe I keep my stress levels lower.

QOTD: I have a few projects around the house that I want to start, so I plan to get started on laying some floors or repurposing a coffee table when I need some distractions.

  • I think that we are going to have to take a few months off TTC.  I have been having migraines and the Dr prescribed me new medication and I can't take it while TTC or pregnant.  We are still moving forward with seeing an RE in March to get some guidance and answers, but it looks like we will be taking a few months off.  Its a good and bad thing, I guess.  We are trying to stay positive.

  • Well today i'm in cycle day 21 and DPO6!! so this is my second week of my TWW and I'm feeling all type of ways now ! I'm so nervous and excited all in one. so I hope aunt flo don't come next Tuesday.

my new hobby during this is a bad one i'm a new member on counting down to pregnancy and it's a addiction. But, I been work and reading books and just trying to stay positive of things. Staying busy is the key!!

  • It has been an interesting week! I'm on CD1 today, just stopped bcp so that is to be expected. I'm still suppressing ovulation with Lupron shots, and I'm amazed at my ability to give myself shots in the stomach. I was so afraid of the trigger shot and blood draws when I started IUIs, and now I can prepare a syringe and plunge it in with no problem! I'm also on estrogen and I feel like it gave me a massive headache yesterday.

K starts her meds tonight - 3 different vials of injectables (follistim and menapur) and I'm glad I got to show her how brave I have been when I am doing my shots. I love her for doing this, and she is really excited that I will be having her baby. All of this is going to be worth it...

My mom is going to fly down for my transfer in 2 weeks. I have to be on bed rest for two days and only get up for the bathroom, according to my doctor. She will be here to take care of me while K is at work.

This all seems like so much! In addition to ultrasounds, bloodwork, appointments with lawyers and a psychiatrist for partner IVF... I think we finally have our ducks in a row.

QOTD: There isn't much free time right now, but I'm going to spin and zumba almost every day. Since there is no pressure for me to "make an egg" I feel more free to do some hard workouts to relieve stress. And I'm having fun!

On another note: I was in Boston last week and almost had the chance to meet up with ball.and.chain, but our schedules didn't connect. She left the board when she was struggling after a loss, but she told me I can report to you all that she is TTC again with an FET in mid-March (around the same time as me).

    M&K met 8/2002 married 6/2012
TTC with RE since March 2012
    3 missed O's, 6 IUIs = 1 BFP then 8 w M/C, 5 BFNs
(2 unmedicated IUIs, 2 clomid IUI, 2 femara IUI)
Shared maternity/partner IVF, transfer #1 BFP!
    EDD 11/28/13
  • Manada gave the logistics of our TTC situation. I'm excited we are starting again. Like M said the break was good but I started getting really sad yesterday that we werent currently actively trying so I'm really glad that M started her period early. It worked out great to get to double up at the clinic today.
What M didn't say is that her AFC is 1012 this cycle which is great for her. The first ultrasound we did that was part of her diminshed ovarian reserve diagnosis was only a 6 Follicle ultrasound. She has been up to 10 each of the last two months and I'm glad we are still there.
Since we do not think selective reduction is an option for us, the doc said she would probably advise us to cancel a cycle with 4 or more big follicles. However if we get 7 or more, then we have the option of being converted to IVF which would be half price we didn't know that they would make it half price for a converted cycle so that is good news. So I'm hoping for 3 or 8 follicles! I want our best chance at a singleton pregnancy 3 or a clear cut sign that converting to IVF is a good move 8.
I'm also looking forward to the injections since they don't hurt M much and I get to give them which gives me a concrete job to do. :

QOTD hopefully my dissertation writing this cycle will distract me. First cycle it was Christmas so that was a distraction. Second cycle it was the second week that was particularly hard at least for me.

  • I am so happy to see that you Healz and M are trying again!
  • Cycle day 4 for me. This AF was strange. Very short and light. Started testing with OPKs today because I missed my surge last month and want to get an idea of when I ovulate. My temps were also weird last month so FF didn't give me any crosshairs.

DW and I are just taking our time and I am charting like crazy so that when it is time to actively TTC, we can do it on our own. We hope!

TTC our first. Married to, and madly in love with, my beautiful wife. Living with our fur baby and enjoying 19 nieces and nephews.
    • DW and I have been tracking, preparing, getting medical testing since January 2013.
    • First Cycle: Unmedicated ICI w/ Donor Sperm 08/02/13: BFN
    • Second Cycle: Unmedicated ICI w/ Donor Sperm 09/11/13, 09/13/13, 09/15/13: BFN
    • Third Cycle: Unmedicated ICI w/ Donor Sperm: 10/13/13, 10/15/13, 10/17/13, 10/21/13: BFN
    • January 2014: Sonohysterogram shows excellent lining & tubes have no blockages
    • Fourth Cycle:  Monitored clomid cycle  w/ ICI's at home: 1/24/14 and 1/25/14. Ovulation verified:  BFN
    • Fifth Cycle: 02/2014 Femara 5mg with ovidrel trigger CD14: BFN
    • Taking a few months off to evaluate if we want to keep trying

I saw she had posted on the other board (not the bump), but didn't know where she was in her IVF journey. I hope her FET goes well.
