I might sound like a dumbass, but...

What the hell is the purpose of this huge rubber whale I just placed over my tub faucet? Got it for my shower; have no idea what the purpose is. I won't be sticking baby's head under the faucet for a very long time. It's adorable, but what does it DO? Looks to me like it'll just grow mildew.

Pregnant 5/2011 - Miscarriage at 6 weeks due to triploidy

    Lol...we registered for one because it was cute as ridiculous as that sounds. I think it's for when they get a little older and start moving around the tub so they don't bang their head on the faucet.

    And of course it's to grow mildew too!!!
    MF (low motility) - Began stims for IVF#1 7/21/12
    ER 8/2/12 - 14 eggs retrieved, 12 mature and ICSI'd, 6 fertilized. ET 8/7 - 2 embies. Beta#1 8/17: 143! Beta#2 8/20: 590! Beta#3 8/22: 1,162! 1st US 9/4: one beautiful little bean with the best sounding HB I've ever heard!

    I was just reading BBB's registry checklist and the spout cover is supposedly a must have. You're spot on!  lol

    Having helped bathe a few wiggly LO's, I think it's a total necessity! When they start to tip or squirm, their heads always seem to go towards the faucet...eek!

    I just got one at my shower! It's adorable! Skip Hop makes a lot of matching bath accessories - I got the knee pad, spout cover and a few others things that were too cute to pass up!
    dx: MFI 0% morph & low count. Occasional Anovulatory cycles.

    I hope I get one!  But I think baby is bathing next to the kitchen sink to start out with - much easier than bending down or kneeling.

    We've been bathing him in his tub in our living room in front of the extra warm fireplace.. There no room in our bathroom for two ppl next to the tub!! : works great!

    We have one, and DS LOVES it. He stares at it and smiles and talks to it his entire bath. That whale is so darn popular in this house that it has a name and tells us stories every night!

    We didn't get one until DS was about a year and the faucet was a prime head smacking target.  It was more about hitting it from above than below....we don't allow him to stand until it is time to get out, but toddlers aren't exactly known for not testing limits.

    2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
    TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!

    I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

    i have a very vivid memory of getting three stitches behind my ear because i slipped and landed on the damn faucet. I was three.

    it is a necessary mildew grower ??

    Along with the head bump protection, I know some peoples spouts get really hot when the bath is run, so it also prevents burns.

    I registered for the whole set.  Whale, kneeler, elbow pad, etc.

    DX: PCOS/Recurrent losses/MTHFR mutation (compound hetero)
    5 hysteroscopies/2 surgical
    3 Inject IUIs = 2 m/c's and 1 BFN
    IVF #1= BFP. m/c at 7w6d. Needed 2 D&C's and scar tissue removal. Mild OHSS
    IVF #2 = BFP. Severe OHSS. 4 Drainings. TWINS!
