I'm living with my parents, and they said they wanted to redecorate the spare room in pink, since once my baby is born there will be three granddaughters who will use it occasionally. 

So I went to get paint today, and apparently there is no such color as "pink." Seriously, I came home with more paint color chips than I had names on my baby name list... totally overwhelmed... Must be some crazy hormone thing that I'm able to feel this stressed out over something so insignificant as what shade of pink the walls are going to be... This kind of makes me glad I don't have a whole nursery to decorate...

    OOhh I love picking paint colours!  Is there a website with the colours you are choosing between?  I'm happy to share my thoughts..

    I definitely recommend going with a softer shade.  That bright pink swatch may look dazzling, but once it's on the wall it will look like the Pepto Bismol room.

    I agree with PP - go with a softer shade than you think.  I painted DD's what I thought was a pretty, light aqua and it turned out more electric blue than I would have thought.

    Are you painting all the walls or just an accent wall?  When I lived alone I had three white walls and one the color or raspberry sherbet. I loved it. Wouldn't fly with DH, though!

    I say buy something for the room first, like the comforters for the beds, or a picture or rug, lamp, whatever and colour match to that with the chips.

    Hey all, 

    Thanks for your responses. Sorry I got kind of busy and haven't been on in a few days. Solved dilemma by matching to a light pink rug I got at Target. Haven't painted it yet, but I'm just going to hope for the best, and if I hate it, I'll just put up a lot of big pictures :)
