Babies: 9 - 12 Months

How much food?

Does anyone have a good resource that shows an average of how much milk/solids babies should be consuming, by age? My boys are 10 months old, still EBF, 3 small solids a day. But they also still nurse through the night, and I'm hoping to rule out the hunger need at night by figuring out what exactly they should take in during the day.

Any help would be great, thanks so much!!!!!

Re: How much food?

  • There are sources that have the number of ounces of breastmilk daily for ages, might try the breastfeeding board. And also Gerber has some menu plans and meal charts that include milk/formula and solid ounces. But you don't need to go directly by what Gerber says I think all of us know what works with our child. I agree though if you have twins you should talk to your ped about it bc they may need more breastmilk than an average baby and may need to eat at night? Good job on breastfeeding!

  • Thanks ladies! I'm going to talk to the pedi, I know it's hard to know what's what based off a generic chart, so hopefully she will have more insight. I think I will also start offering them just a little more solids and see if they are interested, can't hurt to try.

    Thanks again!
