what do you eat?

I'm trying to eat healthy... really, I am. But everytime it makes faye gassy and fussy all day. Today I had fiber one cereal, not even a whole serving. Half or less.

What are you eating to stay healthy but not tear up your babys insides. Seriously she's pooped 4x today. Not normal for her. They all look normal though so I'm not worried, I just feel horrible for her.

  • It's probably the funky protien powder they stick in those types of food that make her gassy. I try not to eat from the center of the store. I stick with a fresh protein, lots of fruits and veggies, dairy, and a whole wheat bread. If you need to have a quick breakfast I do oatmeal and fruit or granola and yogurt.

  • Oatmeal does it too. What veggies do you eat? I love broccoli but since it causes gas I stay away from it.

  • If you want fiber, shreaded wheat. I like Malt o meal but do not have the free arms to make it often. Pears are good fruit right now. The hospital had pouches of liquid bullion that you just add to heated mug of water and stir ... 20 cals for the vegitable "broth", low sodium and good enough plain or add rice or noodles and some left over bits of meat and or veggies. Whole foods carries it or can order online- Savory Creations.

  • I recently started having smoothies in the mornings. I use kale, spinach, frozen strawberries, greek yogurt and almond milk. I typically don't like kale but when put into a smoothie I can't taste it.

    Veggies, we eat a lot of broccoli, peas and spinach. Asparagus when on sale. Spinach has been my go to veggie lately. I just saute in the pan with a little olive oil and garlic. Easy and so good!

  • I can't say I'm a super healthy eater, but I am trying. 

    Pretty much every morning we have eggs. We either do bacon or veggie sausage with flour tortillas. Sometimes we mix it up and use corn tortillas and salsa instead of flour. 

    I eat a lot of avocados and mixed greens for salads. I've been munching on peppers, cucumbers, pears and apples. We also eat a lot of spinach, in smoothies or with our meals. I made Iowa Girl Eat's Italian Wedding Soup last night and it was delicious!

  • I'm pretty fortunate not much makes Elli mad, but the things that do make her really angry. She hates onions, oatmeal and salmon. So I eat lots of chicken, lots of salads and drink a ton of water.
