We're at 11 months now and as we head towards 1 year and switching from formula to WCM, I'm wondering if it's time to eliminate DS's first bottle of the morning. His morning routine is wake up around 7:15, get a bottle, head to daycare, and then have breakfast (e.g., fruit with oatmeal, yogurt) around 8:30-9:00 a.m. Then, he gets another morning bottle around 11:30.
On the weekends if he sleeps in, I don't always give him is bottle in his room right when he wakes up. I change him, bring him downstairs, let him play for a bit and then give him his bottle - maybe 30 minutes after he wakes. He always takes the whole thing, but I'm wondering if he'll miss it if we skip that bottle and just go straight to breakfast? I haven't experimented yet but I'm wondering if anyone else has eliminated (or tried to eliminate) the first morning bottle and how that worked out?
TIA!
Re: Dropping First Bottle of Morning
I just dropped it one day about a month ago and dd never looked back. Now we get ready and head to daycare. She gets breakfast shortly after arriving. The rest of her schedule is roughly bottle about an hour later at 10ish, nap at 11, lunch at 12, bottle at 2, snack at 4, bottle at 5, I pick her up, dinner at 630, bottle before bed.
We have enough frozen BM to make it almost exactly to a year. We will start introducing WCM in sippys. WCM = sippy, BM = bottle. We will see how it plays out
BFP #2 7/18/11 - EDD 3/29/12 - Born 3/13/12
BFP #1 4/4/11 - Natural M/C - 7w1d - 4/30/11
I've been wondering the same thing. Part of me thinks I should give him breakfast instead (no brainer, right?), but he gets breakfast at 8:00 at daycare. So...does he get 2 breakfast's? One at 6am (when we're rushing out the door) and one at 8 at daycare?
Tricky business...
I should note, he wakes up MAD & hungry, so skipping it all together is probably not an option.
