Hi ladies. So we are quickly approaching our move 1200 miles away and priority #1 is to declutter. We have SO much stuff and are going into a rental which is much smaller from the home we own now. Therefore, I am trying to get rid of as much as possible without making any mistakes. Here is my question....
I have a Grace Quattro double stroller (front to back) where the car seats snap in. I NEVER use it as it is so bulky and heavy. I always used the snap n go and now I just use my Combi side by side. My thought on keeping it however was in case we have another LO down the road, it would be nice to have spots for at least 2 to ride or a newborn in the seat and 1 twin in the seat etc.
I also have a Jeep Twin umbrella stroller side by side. Havent used yet bc I havent had the need.
With having and using the Combi almost always, would you ladies say it would be foolish to get rid of the Graco and the Jeep? That would leave me with my Combi and a jogging stroller that I use for walks/rough terrain. I always hate pulling the trigger on things like this and hind sight is 20/20 so I dont want to ditch it impulsively and wish I hadnt in a year from now....
TIA for your expertise ![]()
Re: Seasoned MoM's- advice needed on ditching some gear
I agree with Macchiatto on the Jeep. Maybe hang on to the Graco if you can, since it's your only tandem.
I have the dbl jogger in my siggy pic, the jeep double umbrella, and now the Graco Quattro Duo. (used a DSNG the first 6 or so months)
Our needs have changed a lot once they turned 12-13 months.
My girls constantly try to grab things off shelves in stores, their longer legs/toes now get caught between the plastic foot rests and front wheels of the jeep, and they hold on to the sides of the stroller, making squeezing through narrow doors even more difficult because of fear of someone's finger getting smashed, etc.I'd given up on making family clothing shopping trips to places like Kohl's or Belk, because their aisles are crammed with merchandise shelves and the clothing section racks are so close together, that it just becomes impossible to navigate. I've had to turn around and leave the stores a few times out of this frustration.
The mom of my oldest daughter's friend had a Graco Quattro she was no longer using and insisted I take it. I didn't think I would use it, but now it's my go-to in most situations.
Good luck on your move!!
Based on your changing needs, do you find that the graco tandem is easier to use with big kiddos in stores etc? My biggest concern with that one is how heavy and bulky it is. I found that getting it in and out of my suv was brutal. But I'm torn about its use for when they're a little bigger and/or another LO.
Im definitely thinking the jeep can go based on all other feedback. Too bad that One is the smallest of all of them lol. Thanks for all your help.
Sorry meant to quote my reply to lucyricardo.
yes, it is a little more bulky to load and unload, but that half minute of physical effort can give me a more peaceful and productive outing at this age, then IMO, it's worth it
However, I'm also a bit of a baby equipment sentimental packrat, LOL!
I agree with the other ladies, that you will be just fine with the Combi if there is no realistic way of keeping more.
