My 9 week old has what the pedi thinks is a stomach virus... lots of yellow mucus diarrhea the past week and half... she has me switching him to soy (similac) for a couple of weeks until he stomach gets normal then switch back to similac sensitive (which he was fine on until this)... the soy doesn't seem to mix with water well. I have noticed more spit up (he does have reflux and is on prevacid). Is soy formula really that great? (ie: should I notice a dramatic change?) I haven't noticed any real change in poop since yesterday just maybe slightly less frequent. I mixed it with the old formula for a day but today is just the soy.
Re: Anyone switch to soy formula (only temporary)?
Yes- we just switched back to milk-based. Transient milk sensitivity from tummy bug.
It took a few weeks but it did the trick. The soy does clump and smells -gawdawful- but it worked.
We are also still taking BioGaia probiotics
