*XP Anyone LOVE their washer and dryer?

We have an early model (about 8 yrs old now) Whirlpool Duet front loader washer and dryer and we are starting to really dislike them.  Thinking about selling and getting something new.

My only requirement is that it is NOT LG (We had a horrible experience with them in the past). I would consider front load or top load.

Reasons why we don't like ours:

-The mold issue is really getting bad.  I know this is a front loader thing, but we leave the door open all the time when it is not in use and it still grows mold.  I have to run a bleach cycle at least every other week to keep it from being nasty

-We moved and the washbin got off balance.  When we do wash the WHOLE house shakes.  Whirlpool came and looked and them and fixed them the best they could, but they are still bad (yes, they are not on a concrete slab - I am aware that causes more vibration).

-When we were in our townhouse we had a small laundry closet, so we stacked the units.  When the installer brought them, he switched the door around so it made sense stacked.  Now that they are side by side you have to pull stuff around the door.  Small thing, but super annoying.  The person who came to fix the off balance bin didn't know how to switch the door back to the other direction.

I'd love some recommendations if you have one!

  • We have a Whirlpool Cabrio top loader and love it.  The sales person said you have to wipe down the seal of front loaders after every load and leave the door open to prevent mold and that really turned me off from them.

  • We have a samsung washer and dryer.  The washer is a front loader and we have had no issues with mold.  It comes with a cleaning cycles that requires no chemicals and that has worked for us so far as keeping it fresh on the inside.  It is also equipped with VRT (vibration reduction technology).  If it ever starts to get off balance it automatically corrects itself--it makes a big differenes!  Our dryer is a steam dryer which I love.  I hate ironing and every now and then have something that needs some unwrinkling--I'm able to throw it in the dryer on one of the steam cycles and it gets all the wrinkles out.  The other thing I love about the steam dryer is that if you are somewhere that has a strong odor..like subway or something..you can throw those clothes or coat or whatever in to the dryer on the refresh cycle and it takes the smell out.  This is nice for clothes you dont like to wash often or coats etc.  I dont think I will ever go back to a regular dryer.  Hope that helps! :)
