I'd like to go without an epi if possible. I am allergic to PPD in hair dye and have heard it is also in epidurals yet every single dr. I have asked, doesn't seem to know for sure...
Do you have to geet an epi to have a c-section? or are there other drugs available?

The anesthesiologist that talked at our birthing class said they usually do a spinal for a csection so you can be awake. He said they usually would only do general anesthesia in an emergency situation because it kicks in more quickly. No harm in asking the doctor though.
