Horrible cold!

Me and my 9m old have had a terrible cold for a week. We saw the doctor on Wednesday who said it was just a cold and do all the natural stuff humidifier, nasal spray, hot tea with lemon and honey. Now it's turned into a sinus infection for me so she called us in an antibiotic. Dd has had one dose so far. She just sounds so terrible, stuffy congested raspy voice and coughing. Is there anything else I can do for her? Did the doc drop the ball on this when we came in early we were therefor 9m checkup. I hate listening to her having nasally breathing trouble. It scares me! She just wokeup 40 mins after i put her down with raspy crying and wouldnt nurse at first. I just wonder if she's developed something serious?

    I've been through the same thing a couple times this year with my LO. We are just recovering from our fourth or fifth cold just now. When I am worried, as you describe in your post, I keep calling the doctor or on-call nurse, expressing my concerns. Usually, I go in every three days until the fever subsides. And usually we end up being on antibiotics because of an ear infection about day 5 of the cold.
