We are trying to wean E. Nighttime is the worst. If she sees me, she wants to nurse. Last night was particularly rough. This morning, I told DH he would need to start going in at night if we want this to work.
He said that he didn't like how the plan relied entirely on him. I told him that for the past 18 months her nights have relied entirely on me. And then he pulled the well for the past 18 months I have been going to work everyday. Oh, DH. Thems fightin' words.
His dad was on his way over. I hope DH is prepared for the wrath that will be unleashed when his dad leaves for the sh!t he stirred up.
Re: DH, really?
This coming from the man who has never watched E alone longer than a 4 hour stretch. During which time, she eats lunch and takes her nap so really he has to entertain her for maybe 1.5 hours tops. And while she naps for her 1.5 hours, he can't clean up after her, so I come home to food on the floor, dishes in the sink or on the counter, and a dirty high chair tray.
Oh.No.He,Didn't.....
ETA: We'll be doing this soon, I am dreading this. It only makes sense that he go in there, so LO doesn't get pissed when the milk-woman isn't passing out milk. Also, might I add that raising C is by far the hardest job that I've ever done in my life. He better get used to Rosy Palm and her five sisters because I'm sure it's going to be a while...
My sentiments exactly. Your H is getting a big side eye from me. Huge.
This...
I love working mornings because I don't have to get the kids ready...He needs a kick in the butt.
No, we are only nursing at night though. Before bed, and then she is still waking up usually twice a night wanting to nurse back to sleep. She would stay attached to me all night long if I would let her.
And she has been winding up in our bed most nights. So we are in the same boat. My OB had told me she wanted me to wean by 12 weeks but I am already 14 weeks and E is getting more needy the more I try to keep her from nursing. She's a stubborn and persistent little thing.
hang in there! i haven't seen ob yet but pedi said to try to have ds weaned and in his own bed 3-6 months before the new baby arrives. we are @ 3 times a day. i was going to quit the midday 2 weeks ago & ds got the flu so we were @ several times a day.
good luck & keep me posted!
She didn't really give me a reason, and I didn't ask. I had already come to the conclusion from researching that it was perfectly fine to continue to nurse her throughout pregnancy. That's why I am not really rushing it.
Personally, I am ready to be finished nursing so maybe I can have a break for a few months before it's back to full-time with LO2. Ultimately E may win this battle because she is much more strong-willed than I am.
