  Is it the KFC mashed potatoes are yucky part, or the lack of correlation between the first half of the statement and the last half?
  
  If the first, it's because KFC mashed potatoes are the boxed kind and they taste kind of cardboard-y to me.
  
  If the second, it was a response to OP's statement about KFC mashed potatoes, I just didn't quote because today is a slow day and I figured it wasn't necessary.

  The mashed potatoes and gravy by themselves leave a lot to be desired. But when mixed together, something happens and they become the best. thing. EVAR.
